Street Fighter V Season 2 Patch Notes Released (92 page PDF)

I really don't think you can look at single changes here and decide what that means for a character. They basically remade the whole game, it's nuts.

This is true.

Whatever properties specific moves get or lose, the overall tiers are decided by match-ups. If a few other characters got stuff that makes your match-ups worse, your character will be worse: buffed or not.

D-input is huge, I go back and forth playing SF4 and SFV, same stick i have no issues linking 1 frame combos in SF4, but i have a lot of issues dropping combos because i have to use x360ce for SFV to see my stick..

They messed up the dates by 100 years but this update pretty much does it.

On paper it sounds like they wrecked Nash.

Apart from the Dashes and M.Sonic Scythe... Honestly none of the other changes seem to be a big difference. They will still be strong when used the way they are meant to be used.

Karin got an Air Target Combo? Karin, dear, this isn't Marvel. Why do you want a jMP, jHP air combo?

Actually, to take it a biiit more seriously... what use does this have? Other than punishing whiffed Shoryukens in style? Or does it let her hover for a moment if she punches air?

Well M.Bison's double hits in the air allow for cool juggle combos.

More damage than regular air-to-air, knockdown and she can juggle after j.mp now.

It gives her an air to air that produces a juggle state. It rewards a good read on a jump, and allows her a potential mixup after depending on the timing.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thougt that, going into SFV, Capcom was going to buff up instead of nerf down when they did balance sweeps? I mean in general.

Nerfing down across the board is boring and reduced damage makes the game very pokey.

Bipson's air target combo is good against predicted jump-ins. If she gets a jab reset off that 😱

She can hit you in the air and land and do tenko juggle. Lots of anti air into CA, look up twitter @fettofettoh, they got some stuff.

I think the actual slide was, they prefer to make weak characters stronger than nerf strong characters (slight nuance) And I think it's mostly true except for the random Birdie nerfs.

I think they went one step further , they ultra nerfed the top tier. and then slightly nerfed the low tier to balance it out.

I feel like several lower tier characters that had problematic matchups either got nerfs or didn't get the attention needed.

I personally don't have much skin in the game, though. I've largely ignored the game since release. I just picked up the Season Pass when it went on sale a couple weeks ago, though, so it looks like it's time to give the game another chance and really dive in now that the patch is out.

Balance is a tricky thing. Hopefully the tiers are closer now but you never know, something might have slipped through the cracks to propel someone to the top.

R Mika got one too.

Off topic question, but I figure someone will know the answer. I have Hori V3 stick for ps3 that I want to use to play Street Fighter V and I'm wondering if I should play using a Brook ps3/ps4 converter or just play with legacy option in menus? Which will give less input lag? My Brook converter is the yellow one that does ps3 to ps4 and vice versa in case that makes a difference.

Which low tier character didn't get enough attention? Even listening to Chen right now he seems to think Bison is getting buffs across the board

since this is native I imagine there isn't any input lag? I am no expert.

Those Laura buffs seems kinda nuts, considering the stuff she can already set up. Why is that huge ass overhead plus?

Cause it's risky as hell, and having it hit and only be at 0 wasn't worth it.

But I agree, she might be a monster when the dust clears.

I'm not really impressed with Dhalsim or FANG. I'm not sure about how much better Ibuki will be.

Don't understand the Birdie changes.

So how bad is Cammy now? Dan Tier? Or simply Sean Tier?

I really liked Cammy so this is sadness.

Great point.

They *really* should have just called this the Super Street Fighter V update and released a $40 disc with the update and the Season 1 content to give the game a new lease on life.

Ibuki changes are awesome. Sim normals all sound great, his vtrig is going to be amazing with the grey health change and the fact that it won't go away on vreversal now.

Don't know anything about fang.

Almost all of her normals got better, and they were already good.

But you're a hopeless player that has said Cammy sucks since jump despite how good she is so...yeah.

Sim got HUGE buffs. FANG is looking much better already, but some of that remains to be seen. Ibuki is looking good as well.

Birdie seems to be stronger overall from what others are saying too.

Bad matchups will always be bad but it's not insurmountable in SFV.
