Street Fighter X Mega Man is out

Wow this is some interesting retro game right there! Seriously, is there a reason why the 3ds/vita are not swarming with these kinds of games???? The vita does not need AAA games on the go, its needs downloadable games, arcada stuff like this, journey, Mark of the Ninja or fighting games!!!

I've only played 2 levels (Ryu and Chun Li)... for all their testing, how come no one said "Dude... Stop making things you can and can't go through look so similar!"

Tired of running into walls that look like background tiles and trying to jump on things that aren't solid. I never once had that problem with the old school mega man games...

Hooray for MM's 25th I guess...

Wow, I beat all eight bosses in the Bison stages and what do I get rewarded with? A fucking black screen. There goes my last hour and a half of progress.

I like how capcom endorsed, it's like they bring megaman back without actually having to do anything.

Hey look guys! A Megaman game we didn't cancel!

Bug-ridden piece of shit. So much for Capcom helping with QA. Doesn't properly support controllers, no d-pads, just analog sticks - in a FUCKING MEGA MAN GAME. Can't override configuration with JoyToKey. Buttons randomly stop working, keyboard and controller randomly stops working. Constant slowdown and crashes. Definitely holding off on playing this until they fix it.

What's killing me is that because of the massive deadzones in the controller joystick, I keep sliding instead of jumping half the time, and in a boss fight, that's really unacceptable.

Please, please, please redownload the game from Capcom's official site when the load isn't so bad. They are tracking downloads based on region to decide the fate of the megaman franchise.

I say fuck them if they can't even be bothered to set up a host that can take the load. They put the least amount of effort imaginable into this whole 25th anniversary thing. Some shitty merchandise, staggered re-releases of the same old rom dumps and a re-branded, broken fan-game. They didn't even care enough to allocate sufficient resources to properly QA test it. Fuck them.

Is there a way to blow up the image to fit my 1920x1080 screen? As it is, the game screen is a tiny box with HUGE black borders on all 4 sides

Finally got it to run acceptably again. This is not a good game.

And most people have mentioned my complaints, but my big one is the bosses. Why the hell do the bosses have an ultra meter?

They're already flipping and flying all over the place, and they have way, way too many invulnerability moves and moments. Take Ryu for example, there's absolutely no way there's a pattern to the fireballs. Meanwhile, while I'm jumping and avoiding those as I can, since it seems to be completely random, he pulls out the tatsumaki and starts spinning all over the place, and is completely invulnerable.

My reward, when I do get to attack him? He throws out a Metsu Hadouken. Yeah. Not fun.

We need the Rokko-chan guy to make a fangame next for Capcom to publish. Honestly if I thought Capcom was interested in making this a regular thing to publish fangames I'd change directions on projects in Construct 2 and have a go.

Shinku Hadoken. Get it right son!

It's a big purple fireball and the camera zooms in on him! I don't care it's dumb :(

It really just feels like they paid no attention to the source material when it came to boss fights, opting to throw in as much SF as possible.

That might be a Denjin Hadouken, from SF3: 3s, based on that description.

Psyched to download this when I get home!

I tried downloading this 3 times and it always gives me an error once it reaches 20/33mbs. wtf maynnn, going to download through the mirror.

The levels are pretty lackluster unfortunately. Except Viper's, I liked that one. The bosses are pretty fun so far though.

Vega is making me punch a wall in frustration though. I have no idea what to do with him.

This really. I think they have a nice foundation to build from, but they need to study level design a bit more from classic Mega Man to really make this into something. I like that Capcom supported a fangame and put their name on it, but it is just a fangame after all so its to be expected. I think this fan has some potential though, but they seem to have treated level design on a very formulaic workflow of do one screen then insert transition to next screen for most levels so that they could design things a screen at a time as sort of self contained challenges. Classic Megaman incorporated more scrolling screens that you could walk around in than this and it allowed for more sudden threat and levels without so much pace breakage between screen loads. It also allows for different kinds of challenges to be used.

Like I said they got a good foundation in place, but they could use more time studying level design to get the pacing and difficulty to where it needs to be. I'll keep watching the things this person puts out to see how they grow as they keep working.

This is cool regardless of people with performance issues.

It seems enabling cores, not using a 360 pad are keys to success for this fan made game, unless people post fix its in the OP.

I approve.

Anyone figure out a way if it's possible at all to force the game into a 16:9 resolution, even if it stretches the image?

...why is Blanka's super his Street Fighter Alpha 3 one? *sigh* Friggen watermelons.

So far, the levels are okay. I really don't care for Chun Li's contra rush, even though it does mean that I can fully heal before the boss doors.

Additionally, the lack of a password is annoying. As is lack of saving, and my inability to successfully buster duel Rose.

Yeah lack of saving means I probably won't beat this one. I don't have time to beat games all in one setting anymore, even ones fairly short like this one.

You could always leave it open and mute the sound from the game if you have to go anywhere.

Probably for the same reason no one said "Dude...Let's actually plug a controller in and see if works before we release this!"

can't wait to try this when I get home. scared of playing on my 360 controller though.

I wonder how it controls on an arcade stick? that could be a hilarious solution to the 360 d-pad.
