I know they have an official pronounciation that they clarified for press a long time ago, but watching footage of Iwata's appearance at the Ubisoft roundtable and how he pronounced it ("ooo-bee-ai-soft") multiple times, and sometimes in rapid succession, made me wonder if he practices his english with an English software vocalizer or something. He goes up on stage at the one minute mark in the video.
IIRC, I think some podcaster, possibly Jeff Gerstmann, uses a computerized voice thingy to "read" press releases or something, and noted that it always pronounced "Ubisoft" weird.
I thought the official pronounciation was "you-bee-soft," rather than "ooo-bee-soft."

Or is Iwata secretly a proto-cylon?
