I will be submitting two designs, one in white and one in black. If I win I can try some other color combinations like green penguins on a beige t-shirt.
Something in the same vein would be a tuxedo with a monocle floating where the face should be, a pair of overalls with the moustache and maid uniform with the cap. Penguins are cuter though.
It took me long enough just to do the penguins but I'm considering doing another design sometime later.
No matter what we come up with, no one outside of anime gaf will understand it. Really, no one show should be used to represent us. Totally cool with the monocle/mustache/meido theme though.
I think a penguin can stand on it's own, it doesn't haft to be specifically related to the show, it can always be considered the official anime-gaf mascot.
They are responsible for war in Africa?
--- R15: Junk is junk. I scrub through this so you don't have to! I'll let these pictures speak for themselves.
Use your imagination for this one:
--- Croisée 4: I'm really glad that the PV was
misleading and that there wasn't the cliche character dorama that has plagued HanaIro.
They've "fixed" or gotten rid of a lot of the obvious direction problems and now I can just sit back and watch the culture clash porn. The French don't like soy sauce! They only bathe once a week! We just need a cat mascot and I'll feel right at home.
Speaking of other shows that are peripherally related to this one, you can feel SatoJun's music direction in this one. The soundtrack is just subtle enough that it doesn't feel like it's trying to drill yourself into your brain, but you can still feel the effect it has on the show's mood and tone. It's fab.
This will be the show that no one notices/cares about because it's neither trashy or hipstery, but will probably be the sleeper hit of the season. I'm glad Sentai picked it up... even if it seems to run counter to everything they seem to stand for in terms of licensed anime.
Anyhoo, this is what a 19th century French weeaboo looks like:
Sailor Moon SuperS 131-136 - Yeah, eps. 132-133 were kind of funny, but still, this is by far the worst season so far. So... much... Chibiusa! It's awful, sure she isn't as infuriating as she was in R, but Chibiusa is still really annoying. She's in this way too much, and the inner senshi are in it way too little. Most of the time they don't even appear, unless it's their episode in which case they get to be in it for an episode (in this set Jupiter and Venus have episodes).
Also, the villains in this set are so unbelievably stupid... I mean, seriously. How many times does Tigers-Eye need to see
Sailor Chibi Moon summon Pegasus before he figures out that, wow, Chibi Moon has a connection to Pegasus? It's so stupid...
Yes, in 135 the villain goes into Chibiusa's head and finds Pegasus there, but of course she doesn't report back, and gets destroyed instead. But that shouldn't be needed, he's seen Chibi Moon summon Pegasus several times after all. Given that their whole goal is finding Pegasus, it's pretty unbelievably absurd that he hasn't even a glimmer of a clue that there's any connection there as far as I can tell.
Apparently Usagi hasn't realized it either? What? How stupid ARE these people?
I did like the part where that girl who likes Mamoru immediately figures out that Sailor Moon is Usagi when Mamoru and Sailor Moon start interacting, though... yeah they made it obvious, but plenty of characters in this show are so dumb they probably wouldn't have noticed... also, poor Mamoru, having to deal with both Usagi and Chibiusa. It almost makes you wonder why he likes them, based on that comedy episode... I mean, with how they argue constantly and are so childish.
Oh, and there were some clever villains in this set. They don't match S's villains, but some, like the inflatable balloon woman one, was kind of clever...
Until Mamoru finally stoped it by popping the balloon right before it smothered Sailor Moon... yeah, I was kind of wondering why it took him so long, but oh well, he did it in the end.
Oh, and we meet Diana, Luna and Artemis's daughter from the future. She's only had a minor part so far though, apart from her introductory episode.
And finally, for episode 136, Ninja Usagi is pretty awesome. :lol Jealous of Rei are you, huh? Don't worry, she's not going to steal Mamoru from you... not that she'd realize. That ninja suit's pretty funny though (Also, yeah, Tigers-Eye, he has so much confidence that he can charm any woman, but they all reject or ignore him... it's a joke they repeat over and over, but it is kind of amusing. ). Chibiusa, though... I know I said it earlier, but yeah, she's in this so ridiculously over-much... go back to having more inner senshi, some of the outer senshi, and less chibiusa darnit!
Well, you are correct, but Where Kai explained the whole conspiracy and the people behind it (Matsuribayashi-hen) It didn't actually went deeper into motive,
The Parallel world
and the character further background and thier devolpment into thier current problems. Rei explained it in more complete version of the events and the motives.
Ironically, Rei was the extra 3 chapter devoloped as a fan disk for the games. Didn't know they were Kanon. But I am glad they went with it.
The shirts will be sold at cost, so it'll probably be more expensive with a back pattern. EvilLore's not planning to gouge you like some other sites would, it's just a kind of GAF pride thing.
I just don't know if a penguin is the best animal on the shirt. Maybe something more universal like a cat?

Monocle Cat, Moustache Dog and Meido Mouse?
I picked penguins because they are cute, they're recent, they're classy and they're cute.
If I just had a monocle and a moustache it wouldn't really feel like AnimeGAF. This way, the penguins represent the anime part and their accessories represents the GAF part.
Also, cats are definitely monocle types.
Well that's a fine logo for Penguin Drum fans, but what about anyone else?
(I picked Penguindrum mostly because it is something everyone can enjoy, like how both monocles and moustaches enjoy Utena. but I couldn't think of how to integrate a rose motif into animegaf)
I picked penguins because they are cute, they're recent, they're classy and they're cute. I'm against generic designs because they're, well, generic. If I just had a monocle and a moustache it wouldn't really feel like AnimeGAF. This way, the penguins represent the anime part and their accessories represents the GAF part.
