Super Best Friends Thread 4: Pat, Please Come Back. We're Not Creepy Anymore!

Ok that actually seems interesting. Is it written/drawn by Type-Moon or is it some fan thing?

It's well written and it's by type moon. It is the manga after all. They also did the sequel series manga. Like Melty blood (Another great adaptation, even if they got a few things wrong.)

I really like the expanded notes section in VLR because it goes deep into the science, and it even calls out it's own bullshit pseudo-science, and then goes onto explain the real thing.

That's one of my favorite things about VLR. Like when they talked about Schrödinger's cat I was just in love with that whole discussion lol.

I was right, the Kenny hate masked the seriousness of the final decision.

It is MONSTROUS that Jane made Clem shoot the closest thing she had to father figure (uncle at best) in order to prove a point. Staying with her is a huge mistake.

I don't think Jane wanted Clem to do it, she probably even didn't expect Kenny to take it that far.

How they did it is they focus on arcueid, but they put slight information from the other routes to make it make sense.

You see, you only get the full picture of what's happening in Tskukihime if you play all the routes. Without that you're probably wondering what X character is doing at Y time. The manga fixs this by just putting the info in without taking away the focus of the route.

Okay, this is another game that I know absolutely nothing about, but it's on the list. Spoiler free summary of why should play? Cause I mean it. I know jack-shit.

I'll have to check it out then. I'll read a few chapters and see if I wanna read the manga or just wait for the eventual remake.

By the people who did Fate/Stay Night, heard a lot of people say it's even better

Anyway to get back on topic, now that I know people better I occasionally can get them into stuff despite them being annoyingly skeptic. Does your friend have something he's basing his dismissal on or is it literally just because? If it's just outright dismissal, then that's ridiculous.

He's just dismissive. He'll often use the excuse that he doesn't have time for anything, but it's bullshit because he has a shit ton of free time.

It's pretty much a mystery adventure type of story with Vampires and what not. It slower paced and focused on figuring out a mystery. Kind of like Persona 4, but much darker and the main character is mentally unhinged somewhat.

The worst and most annoying part is that I know his tastes so well that I only recommend him things I know he will like, but he refuses to try them purely out of not believing that he'll like it.

I got him into Dark Souls, which is now his favorite game ever, Mass Effect, which is now one of his favorite games ever, Tiger and Bunny, which is now one of his favorite anime ever, Invincible, which is now his favorite comic book ever, and every single time he was just like "Nah, I ain't gonna like that shit." Every single time, it's fucking infuriating. Especially when there're so many things I know he will absolutely love.

I don't recommend things to people often because I get very frustrated when he/she doesn't like it as much as I do.

I'd probably get just as frustrated as you.

Yeah if only there was some way she could have ended the conflict when things went too far, like say
revealing her glass eatingly retarded plan and the baby's safety

How old are you?? FYI, there are people who haven't touched season 2. You should spoilertag your blatant spolier.

The episode just came out...

Fair enough, but the fact that Kenny was willing to use lethal force from the start probably proved that her plan had some merit. Her idea was just to make him angry, not to force him to try to kill her.

How much of a psycho was she? She at least acted upset when she stabbed that Russian. Was that an act?

She was willing to put a baby in harms way to prove a point.

She, as a character, is completely irredeemable. She's a psychotic, heartless bitch, I can't believe anyone would forgive her.

Yes, she shouldn't have been with either one of them, which is how my game ended.

Shit talk anyone's dead family for 10 minutes and then pull a "lol where'd that baby you've been obsessed over go???" and see what happens. No shit the unhinged Boatmaster of all people would react poorly

That not an excuse whatsoever. Not one, he didn't just try to beat her up, she tried to kill her. Right when Jane put her knife up he attacked that moment. He had a right to be angry, but not a right to try and attack her.

I have no idea what the idea is then. Killing that guy and feeling awful about it was meant to humanize her in contrast with all the moments where she's cold and heartless.

I dunno what that says or if it was even intentional. It seems really inconsistent.

I normally would, But I have a test at school tomorrow, so yeah.
This would be way easier if coffee wasn't so disgusting

I don't like coffee, but I need it so bad. If I don't drink it, I don't accomplish anything.

I'm so in for that Kenny Mii tourney. Mii fights are gunna be so hype

It's called bad writing.

The writing, in S2, is fucking awful.

That sounds actually pretty good. Now the deal breaker.

Is the character you play useless anime lead?

Don't forget
shooting a guy in the balls and letting him be eaten alive by a horde of zombies

Already, I find myself questioning if I can hold off on 3DS Smash... My Ultimax doesn't even get here till Thursday...

Nggghhhh

That's what I was thinking of. It feels really weak and inconsistent. Maybe someone would disagree.
My neighbors have been sufficiently rustled.

I'd prefer to do another take, but I don't think I'll get away with that shit.
Sick. You get bonus points if I hear them yell at you in the recording.

And while Jane is cold, she's not heartless, she did try to help Sarah when clem asked. Risking her life by the way. She also came back even after everything that happened. I'm not saying Kenny is heartless either, but Jane isn't some manipulative mastermind a lot of you are making her out to be.

Is the character you play useless anime lead?

To my personal knowledge no, but I don't think Type-Moon has ever had that kind of protagonist. Their MC's are usually very well developed characters that often steal the show in their own stories (like Shirou in F/SN or Shiki in Kara no Kyoukai). I don't think its any different here.

No. considering he fights vampires and saves the day...and he's human is pretty impressive. Actually I kind of wish the female lead did more considering how many time stronger she is compared to him.

But both of them fight on equal terms despite the power difference.
