Yup, that's my main problem with Mario these days. The games are brilliant, that's not even in question, but they could maybe do a different art-style? This looks like basic Mario. It's better than NSMB though, that looked bland as hell. Mario World looked like Mario but with an edge, Yoshi's Island looked like a storybook, but after that they started playing it too safe.MikeE21286 said:That's a Mario game alright.
Maybe. I hope Dark Souls gives it a run for it's money though.Shiggy said:Probalby GOTY.

I can confirm: it's-a him, Mario.Dynamite Shikoku said:Yep, looks like mario to me

Pandoracell said:No, but I was expecting visuals that would approach what was done on the cube/wii. There's very little geometry in these screenshots, and what is there still looks a tad blocky, in a poly-starved sense, not artistic one.
Of course, the developers haven't had as much time with the 3DS hardware, and I may be overestimating it's technical capabilities, so I probably have nothing to complain about.
Panajev2001a said:I am not a fan of the timer. It seems one big "don't explore or wander around, hurry up and finish the level" kind of thing... and that is an element I do not like to have in a 3D Mario. Super Mario 64 with a timer would have not been as enjoyable as it could be.

MH3G seems to come close.EatChildren said:Yeah, it's quite basic in geometry, but it works well while playing. I don't really think we'll see anything pushing the kind of geometry we saw on the Wii. Nothing on the 3DS does so far, and I'm not getting the impression the hardware can do it.
