Man, I hate it when games don't match my buzzword of choice. Personally, I feel this game does not look bodacious enough for a radical dude like me. Should be decent enough for dribbling babies and persistently vegetative gamers though,

For real, this series never ceased to be a special world. I'd like to think each Mario game does its best to be gnarly on its own merits, from the tubular atmosphere of Galaxy to the way cool tranquility in some of 64s more lush areas. I'd argue the all-important level design never weakened either and only got more awesome, and even now 3D World is holding its own, being groovy. Some people would say that Bowser's mondo ride has me blinded but I beg to differ. How outrageous that people can't get down with the funky beat presented in this trailer.

these two dope posts are to the max

Have they announced any wii u bundles with 3d world?

My guess is bundles with NSMBU for the holidays.

Japan's getting one with NSMBU, Wii Party U, and a Wii Remote Plus. The other includes those things and throws in Wii Fit U and the Fit Meter (no balance board).

I wouldn't be surprised if something like that comes here.

Can I say I'm happy I jumped on a Target deal a few months back that gave me the Deluxe pack and NSMBU shipped with Redcard discount to be around $345?

This small screenshot from the background of the Japanese site shows off more of World 1. You can see there is a slot machine (another SMB2 reference?), an item block, a brick block, and an underground level.

So here is what we know of World 1:

1-1 unknown
1-2 underground
Slot machine
Charging Chuck blocking a Toad House
1-3 Mount Beanpole
1-4 Circus level
1-5 Dino surfing level from E3
Secret hedge
Toad Brigade Leader challenge level
1-Castle

I do like that they reinvented the idea of going into a potion door in that shadow level. That was pretty cool.
But if I designed this game I would have that whole shadow level have a film noirish film grain effect, and make the music change when you go into the door/shadow part.

Damn those ign gameplay videos are great. Now I am really digging that this is an expansion of what they did with 3d Land. It looks fun as hell and absolutely hectic in multiplayer.

The games coming out until xmas makes the Wii U the console of choice. SMB3DW just cements it. EAD knows their shit. That trailer was just fantastic. Playing this with my wife was be wonderful, she loves Peach and will play it exclusively.

I wonder if there are any unannounced features. Nintendo normally adds new features for their games to interact with Miiverse.

Everything about this game looks so good. After watching this trailer again (and again) the delay of DK:TR stings just a little less.

Well, I jumped yesterday morning because of this game but I need a little help. Bought the Zelda pack with W101 and all, but what I'm reading about the controller is downright concerning.

Do you really have to plug it into the wall every night? Is there an alternative? New to Wii U ...

Just put it on your charging stand whenever you're not playing the system. Simple as that. This only applies if you bought deluxe/Zelda bundle.

Not really, but its battery life is pretty short so if you use it extensively you might want to do that, just so that you don't have to wait time charging it the next day.

sucks, but there is an official cheap new battery coming out that extends/replaces the battery in the gamepad.

Managed to snag one from Japan. Nice to not have to worry about it as much.

Something that came to my mind:

So a tanooki tail let's you float for a few seconds, which is also Peach's ability (with the difference that Peach floats horizontally and with the tail you float downwards).

With that in mind... would there be anything different in Peach with a tanooki tail? Because if she started floating down, it would actually be a DOWNgrade. Hmm

She'll probably have her regular float, and then descend.

you should keep the GamePad on the charge cradle when not in use

then you won't have to worry about it (except during long play sessions)

i read somebody saying 60fps....

is that right?

yes go watch the trailer on the eShop if you have a Wii U. It's 720p and 60 fps, I believe. Looks very nice.

So good. When it came up on the tv screen. For a second I felt like I was playing it. Pure gaming bliss.
