Super Paper Mario moved to Wii (Shock!)

That is because Sony knows that they won't be making any profits on PS3 and they will see a lot of money losses in the 6 months, so they made games like GOW 2 to cash in.
I wish they would cash in more often :)

Great news. :D This game looks too cool to be ignored on the GameCube because everyone's moved on. That happened to Paper Mario on N64 in Europe... it was released sooo late and sold about 14 copies.

NSMB shows how popular 2D Mario still is.

Well duh.

Even if I bought it, I would be playing it on Wii anyhow.

See, this is what I don`t understand about the complaints. Who was waiting for this on Gamecube that wasn`t going to get a Wii??

I imagine there were some, but probably not the majority.

Anyone in the know enough to be excited about SPM, and a fan of the games enough to be planning in advance to actually get SPM, would probably be (for the most part) in the market for a Wii.

Now the only question that remains is the control scheme.

You're assuming everyone who owns a Gamecube will automatically get a Wii, which is very unlikely.

It`s unlikely that people who bought a slouching Nintendo console will spring for a console with far more potential?

There's 20 million people who have bought a Gamecube, less than 20 million who own a Gamecube, and less than that who really give a shit. Newsflash spanky: The GC isn't a PS2 (
The Wii is a PS2 lol
). It's been dead since last October (actually earlier than that, but I want to include Fire Emblem). Not that I care about Nintendo's bottom line since they're doing pretty damn well, but if you bought a GC with all its problems, you'll probably end up with a a Wii sometime. And now you have one more reason to.

if we could just confirm that mario galaxy was at some point a gc game, we could say that all of wii's worthwhile software was filched from gamecube

broken record

you are right. even MORE people than only gamecube owners will buy a wii :D :D

We have a winner.

My sister wants one just because it's by the "DS people"

Bless her heart. How old is she? Is she hot?

True, I was waiting for the game, as for Twilight Princess.
I won't buy a wii, so this news makes me sad.

Next up: Twilight Princess GCN canceled!

wouldn't that almost be a good move? Rather than distract attention from the Wii and get people thinking about the relative disappointment of the GC, just release on the Wii and get your momentum moving.

Most people that bought a GC will buy a Wii anyway, so just kick things off with a bang.

Won`t you buy a Wii NOW?!

I just don`t understand this thought process. Please educate me.

There's only a small amount of people who have reserved it that I know of who want to switch to Wii. Certainly it'll be a big big launch title for the system, but killing GC TP would be like killing DC Shenmue II (which Sega didn't do ALL THE WAY, so that's cool).

Do you think there's any chance that Spore will be released for the Wii? Do you think it will be a port, or designed for the Wii? And are you as excited about Spore as I am?

Matt responds: It was officially confirmed for Wii and will make use of Nintendo's unique controller.

Issue two of NGamer via Go Nintendo, so take it with the required grain of salt:

Confirmation on Spore: “Release: Spring 2007″
Plus: “EA have confirmed that link-up play with the DS is on the cards, so you can deform your species on the fly.”

Gaming isn't a high priority anymore. I don't have time to sit and play. My current games are all covered with dust.

I like my consoles but I won't invest in hardware anymore. I have more than enough games to keep me happy, if I want to play / can play.
So, these last NGC games made me very happy. I want Zelda and Mario, but I don't want to invest anymore money on some hardware.

So no Wii, no xbox360 and certainly no PS3.
I'm happy with the PS2, NGC, DS Lite and PSP.

So this isn`t that sad then. Moving on...

Blegh, I really wanted this game. Not prepared to buy a Wii for it however, so oh well. Guess I'll have to hope for the Wii to follow the Gamecube's price crash example here in the UK.

besides IntSys is awesome awesome is IntSys.

this game will rock more on Wii imo. it'll probably be better than SMG :P

Well I wonder why...

WE GET IT ALREADY. YOU ****ING HATE NINTENDO. YOU CAN STOP NOW.

Anyway, the amount of stupid going around this thread is enormous. This was going to happen, and I'm glad it did.

You'll hold the Wiimote sideways, and Mario will finally jump further if you jerk the controller to the right.

Best. Game. Ever.
That's not TP

Finally. My parents were trying to get that mechanic to work 15 years ago.

IntSyS deserves good sales, so it deserves it on Wii. Most prople have probably got rid of gamecube anyway.

This is great. Two ****ing awesome Mario games on the Wii within the first 6 months. It's like the SNES all over again.

That`s the idea. :)

I doubt that son. Koizumi and Shimizu would eat anything Intelligent Systems developed alive!!!

Donkey Kong '94, Star Fox 64, Majora's Mask, Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario 64 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Paper Mario 1-13

Conversely...

Donkey Kong '94, Star Fox 64, Majora's Mask, Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario 64 <<<<<<<<<<<<<< Advance Wars 1-13

Not exactly a surprise. The real question is why it was announced and shown for Gamecube in the first place.
that was pre E3.

Wii came out of E3 super strong... the *active* Wii market will probably surpass the active cube market (ie people that still buy cube games) pretty quickly and people will more likely buy a Wii game for their Wii than a cube game I'd guess.

that or they had a brainwave on how to use either the Wii's extra power or controller in a positive way.
