At this point she's basically guaranteed her safety until a tribe swap, and she's non-threatening enough that if she makes the merge she can easily skate through to the final five.

It was the wrong move for the immediate future. Even though Garrett fumbled spectacularly at tribal, they should of gotten rid of J'Tia. They still need to win challenges, and the only reason they had any shot at the last one was because Garrett beasted through it.
They better hope that they get some non-physical challenges, or that Jeff pawns them off to the other tribes soon.

I really don't see the Brains tribe winning anything. Not only are they the weakest physically now but they've proven to be really dumb when it comes to actually doing anything. Beauty was pretty much floating in the water for about five minutes of airtime and they still caught up and beat them.

That was a goddamn great first episode. What a glorious start to a hopefully ridiculously hilarious season.
Looking forward to J'tia burning the camp down, cop guy getting busted in the spy shack, and the beauty girls getting hosed at a tribe swap cuz no other guy on the other teams will give a shit about 'em.

How can you lump Eliza/Shane/Courtney in with Dreamz and NaOnka? The first three are awesome, whereas NaOnka and Dreamz were terrible people.
Don't remember Jamie at all, though. Even after looking him up, nothing rings any bells.

This was the best premiere I can recall in a very long time.

I honestly cannot remember how they handled it Palau when one team just got to kill themselves off. Did the other team have to sit out ~8 people each immunity challenge?
I obviously ask because Brains are heading down that road. I didn't know if the Survivor gods would just one-and-one them to the other teams with two people left (Kass and Tasha probably) or just let them die.

Yup. There's almost certainly a swap this season though, you have to with the 3x6 structure.
Watch Phillipines to find out how it will go down if they lose all the challenges.
I've watched all seasons besides the first one. My brain purges 90% of the season once they're over though for some reason, that's why I usually ask dumb questions every once in awhile.
Dysfunctional and dumb (sound like a certain tribe this season?) tribe Matsing got whittled down to Denise and some scrub, where Denise managed to maintain pristineness and flawlessness all the way to her inevitable victory.
I couldn't have been more elated with the premiere! I am completely amazed that J'Tia is still on Survivor. How someone who had not just a poor performance during an Immunity Challenge but a complete meltdown AND tossed out the tribe rice, how J'Tia is around blows me away. (As a fan of sports and unshitty people, it is joyous that David was the first to get the boot!)
I doubt anyone would have predicted the absolute shitshow that is the Brains tribe but damn it is the best! I'm hoping for more soundbites from Spencer as well as Brice from Beauty and Sarah from Brawn. I was already hype for an all-new cast. After that premiere, this season could be something special.

I get why Kass made the move that she did. I mean, at the end of the day it puts her in a much better position. Garrett plus his friend needed to be broken up. They were clearly driving the group. However, I can't believe that someone can throw away all the food, and still stay in the game. I think on principle, I wouldn't have the nerve to keep that person in the game. And that is on top of her completely blowing a challenge they should have won, and being an insufferable person the first couple of days (making everyone suffer).
