24-year old man pleads guilty to causing a large-scale operation involving the fire department and police on the 16th July 2015. After 3 failed attempts on other Streamers he was able to organize a successful Swatting on german Youtuber/ Livestreamer Drachenlord. This drew the attention of authorities, ending up in a total of 18 acussations involving not only swatting but also computer fraud and incitement and spreading of child pornography.

The defendant had also sent hundreds of goods to foreigners in advance with fake payment and address data, which had to be returned. Furthermore he sent packages with worn socks, chemicals, animal nets and sex toys, which resulted in a total damage of 38.000 €.

The swatting alone provides him with 1.5 years of imprisonment but combined with the other crimes he got a sentence of 3.5 years. The courts said the punishment would be much higher, if his first attempts also succeeded and if they didn't agree upon a full confession beforehand (which signfically lowered the punishment). This is the first court ruling for a Swatting case in Germany and the Nürnberg court wants to make clear that Swatting is a serious crime and "not trivial".

SIDE NOTE: This case of "Swatting" didn't involve the german SEK unit but only the fire department.

I guess it's the same reason attempted murder and murder aren't the same thing, but still seems a bit strange to me.

There is also animal porn mentioned - I guess those are just disgusting pics he used to harass the streamer. Doesn't seem as "real" child pornograhpy at least they don't cite it in the verdict.
