Guilty. I continue to buy everything on this damn device.
Legit shocked it only sold that on steam. Disappointing
Based on the Steamspy data, not surprising. It's only been around 8-10k on that platform. Sad to be honest (though PC release was delayed compared to others)
After years of support, the PS4 has two categories of games for me: shit i dont like and stuff id rather play on a Switch.
Them low number on Steam are worrying for it's total sales on everything. It's always good hearing that a Nintendo version outsells the other consoles. Even more aweseome when it outsells the combined total of the other platforms
You can get a PS4 + Vita for about the same price as a Switch + Pro controller. Just sayin'.
A delay and little exposure on the Steam store against an overabundance of other, lesser priced 2D platformers are the likely scenario. But those are problems that do not exist for the console versions. That said, I see PS4 carrying the bulk of sales that aren't Switch.
Have you been on PSN lately? Outside of the delay all those problems exist on the PSN store. I've never heard of this game until this thread and I check the store every Tuesday. And even if all else were equal I would still bet on the switch version selling more just due to audience difference. I glaze over these 2D platformers now. Seems like 10 come out every week.
It sold more than a SMS, GG, and TG16 game combined? So over 47 copies?

I'm more interested in Sonic Mania's sales. The Switch version wasn't announced until months later and was handled by a different team.
I have never understood posts like this, I get people wanting portability but how is that screen better than any other? Don't own a Switch, not trolling or anything but I genuinely don't understand how it's better than a TV :/It's the exact same game on every platform except it's portable on Switch and looks gorgeous on that screen. If you have the option, Switch is the platform to own it on.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's also the best selling version. I imagine there's a big overlap between Genesis fans and Switch early-adopters (myself included).I'm more interested in Sonic Mania's sales. The Switch version wasn't announced until months later and was handled by a different team.
If by this point in the Switches lifecycle you're still having trouble finding games that appeal to you, then its more to do with taste then with the line-up. Taste is a funny thing like that. After years of support, the PS4 has two categories of games for me: shit i dont like and stuff id rather play on a Switch.
And it's completely justified to demand AC and Battlefield to come to the Switch based on USF2 sales. The fact a re-release like that could sell at full price means that people are voting with their wallet to get more content on the platform. No need to get so fucking salty about that, buddy.

It has never been implied that it's better than a TV lol.I have never understood posts like this, I get people wanting portability but how is that screen better than any other? Don't own a Switch, not trolling or anything but I genuinely don't understand how it's better than a TV :/
That aside, great for Wonderboy! Loving seeing stuff like this and Sonic Mania coming back.
Why not give the actual number instead of making people guesstimate? If a developer is happy with their sales, just say the number imo. Noticed this vagueness recently in withholding sales data. I don't follow these NPD/Media Create/sales threads at all, so can someone explain it to me?
Happy for the developer.
The post I quoted implied it was the version to get for that reason and I have seen many posts since launch that have said similar. It has never been implied that it's better than a TV lol.
Screen is a good quality IPS panel though, which is more easy to appreciate especially if your past portable console was a 3DS. Resolution helps too.
Because it's an extra advantage, not because handheld is inherently better than tv.The post I quoted implied it was the version to get for that reason and I have seen many posts since launch that have said similar.
I guess that was my question, how is it an advantage? To get the Switch version over another? Or did he mean the screen happens to be good as a reason if you want it portable? That would make some sense, I could have misunderstood.Because it's an extra advantage, not because handheld is inherently better than tv.
Inside is outright beautiful art with superb animations, Superhot has cool stylistic visuals, but come on! Undertale almost celebrates its ugliness.Undertale, SUPERHOT and Inside for being some of the best modern games from a visual standpoint
Yes, I know. It's just my interpretation that if it did that much better on the switch there should be a lot of unused potential on the other platforms. Which is sad.Without knowing how much it actually sold and what sales expectations were, you can't say that it performed poorly on other platforms. Maybe it did poorly, or maybe it did okay, or maybe it did great. We don't know. But the Switch version did better. That we know. That's really the only cold hard fact we can gather from this, for lack of other info.
The only people that are guilty are the ones that did not buy it for their PS4 or Xbox One.Guilty. I continue to buy everything on this damn device.
My congratulations to Capcom execs for not greenlighting Switch versions of Disney: Afternoon Collection and Mega Man.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's also the best selling version. I imagine there's a big overlap between Genesis fans and Switch early-adopters (myself included).
Yeah and people wanting big meaty experiences are on other consoles playing the massive amount of already available games. (Zelda not withstanding of course)
I guess that was my question, how is it an advantage? To get the Switch version over another? Or did he mean the screen happens to be good as a reason if you want it portable? That would make some sense, I could have misunderstood.
Yeah I think I got what he meant ta.I mean, the advantage itself is portability, where the other versions are TV-mandatory, you can play the Switch version anywhere. The screen happens to be of good quality, which makes that advantage easier to appreciate.
That's just it.
That's great to hear as it's a very special game despite some flaws. I'm slightly more surprised that Has Been Heroes has sold well. That game looked like a hard pass.
Legit shocked it only sold that on steam. Disappointing

I'm not. I didn't even know it was available on Steam.
