Target Triple Trade-in Value from 5/18-5/24

My target has used games in the magazine area.

The one I went to didn't have any, maybe it depends on the store?

Wow, if it's just for ewaste then they shouldn't be deducting for games without their inserts....

Yeah, I dunno if the guy was just making up stuff because he didn't know the answer.

Edit- fenners' post below mine explains it well. I didn't read the link I posted carefully. Still, it was misleading since the article title was "Join NextWorth in reducing e-waste and preserving the environment"

That is list is outdated and rarely updated.

I was wondering if it was. I see newer games like Bioshock Infinite and Football Manager 2014 on that list.

Yup! I'm thinking of trading Ikaruga, Zelda 4 Swords and Mario Kart Double Dash for a cool 90 all together.
This is really hard to pass on... MK Double Dash, Mario Sunshine, Smash Bros. Melee and Wind Waker are all fetching the same amount as Killer 7. I could walk away with $150 for games that are packed up in a box in my basement (ran out of media rack room). Still, I've been bitten by traders' remorse before... I'd hate to succumb to greed only to be kicking myself later for some reason or another. ARGH!

Are they paying cash for these or just in-store credit?

Reducing e-waste is not just about recycling, but also about re-use. NextWorth's programs and services bring the re-use of electronics products into the mainstream, to reduce e-waste and increase the lifetime use of electronics products.

NextWorth diverts electronic products from the waste stream by giving consumers easy ways to sell and buy used electronics products. NextWorth gives consumers the opportunity to get value for their used equipment, while re-directing the equipment from the landfill and into the hands of new users, increasing the lifetime use of products which preserves natural resources.

Bolded. They resell all this stuff. they're not just throwing the games/gear into a recycling bin.

Fucking ridiculous. I just spent 20 minutes at Target with a Mobile employee who didn't know what the fuck he was doing. I had to walk him through every step, and it didn't end up tripling the values. Now I have to go back after work and see if the assistant manager can help. What a fucking joke.

I watched the guy do my transaction, and on the screen he clicked on something titled "Promotions" (it was near the top of the screen). When he did that, a menu appeared and I saw that the triple buyback promotion could be turned on or off. He switched it to on (was off by default) and then rescanned my games and the correct values were then given. Your guy must have missed this part.

Has anyone from Florida done this? Do I need to pick out the stuff I want to buy before trading? Can I buy PSN or Amazon Gift Cards? Does Target have the option to fully pay off a preorder like Last of Us/Watch___//℔¿__---_¡)_Dogs?

Why the fuck is the "Promotion" turned off by default during the week of the promotion? Son of a bitch. I should have just told him to move and done all the work on the computer myself. Fucking ridiculous. These companies start these programs, then don't train their workers how to fucking do them. Same problem happened when I tried to trade-in at Walmart after they started taking them. No one had any fucking clue how to do it.

Speaking of Tearaway, does anyone know whether it came with inserts in the case? I got it secondhand from eBay, so I'm not sure.

No inserts. I had to argue this with the mobile rep yesterday... if you need help, google "[name] game case" pictures on Google images to prove the case doesnt come with any.

Buy random games and return them for a legit gift card. Amazon gift cards are no longer at Target.

I'm going to Target in about 40 minutes and trade in my copy of TR:DE and AC:IV and buy PSN cards.

Then go home and buy the digital version of TR:DE while it's on sale.

I just made $20 on just TR alone.

I'm getting absolutely nothing useful from googling "tearaway game case". Well, if I can't manage to get full price, I'll just keep it and actually play it.
Yes, I'm aware I'm a terrible person for trading it in without playing it.

If it helps, I got mine secondhand as well, but it didn't come with inserts either. So I'm pretty sure there were no inserts.

I don't get it either... But I watched the employee "turn on " the promotion as well. Craziness.

This is pretty tempting, but I like holding onto most of my games, even the ones I've beaten. I'll have to dig through some storage bins and see if I have any junk that'll fetch me a little extra cash. Thanks OP.

I don't even see where it says you need to have the manual/other shit with it. Says original artwork and original case only. Weird. Hope when I go back today the guy isn't a dick about it.

Just found a pic with an insert... but it seems to be the EU version. Still can't seem to find a pic of the NA version.

Edit: Found an unboxing video on Youtube, looks like the NA version indeed has no inserts.

Are they actually requiring the inserts? Because I have no idea if any of these games of mine even came with inserts...

No. Almost no Vita game comes with inserts. Challenge them on it. They shouldn't be trying to take money away when the game comes with no manuals etc. I argued my case on this until the mobile rep gave in.

Brooklyn, the Bronx, Long Island, Jersey City....plenty of choices...

Theres a bunch of them in NYC, theres one on 116th st in Manhattan, right by the east river, one by Yankee Stadium, couple in Bronx and Brooklyn, just check put in your zip into the site to show closest location.

Where in Brooklyn? Am I bugging or is there one in the Atlantic Ave mall? LI and Jersey are too deep for me. Hell, the bronx is pushing it.

Edit: the one on 116th doing the trade in?

According to the Target website, none of the Targets in Manhattan, Bronx, Queens or Brooklyn are doing trade-ins. Yes, this includes the store at 116th St.

The closest one to the Bronx is located in Mount Vernon. In Brooklyn there's one in Valley Stream (on the border of Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island). There are multiple stores in New Jersey (Jersey City, Edgewater, North Bergen).

Heads up about Knack - it never came with a manual inside the case. You get $5.34 more if you know that fact. The manual is actually on the inside sleeve of the cover art behind the disk.

Traded in 6 games got $245. Felt good considering some of those were part of buy 2 get 1 free deals off Amazon.

Now triple that amount.

You have to be there when the Mobile kiosk is operating. On the trade-in site, when you search for stores, the operating times it gives you are for that.

Tried searching for the ones around Dayton, Ohio and it doesn't seem that any of the ones within 50 miles have those additional mobile kiosk hours at all labeled. Might just be easier to just call, or there's not not one nearby that does these. Which, could be that.

If you're searching on the trade-in site, the hours aren't labeled at all, they implicitly refer to the mobile kiosk hours.

wish I hadn't bought Knack on PSN. I'm going to a different target today to trade in soem more games:

Titanfall X1
Dead Rising
Shadow Fall.

I haven't even finished shadowfall

can you do it online for triple amount or only in store?

sorry if its been answered, i would rather wait for the GC to be mailed than to be playing the guessing game with kiosk hours

Well, I feel blind as hell. Thanks for that and such.

So is it pretty strict with the three game per trade in session, or is it like what you said and just depends on the person working the kiosk?

from that link in the OP, when I search stores, does that show stores that accept trade ins or just every Target in general?

I live on Long Island, there's like 40 targets in Nassau/Suffolk. Not sure if each one takes trades or if it's just showing every Target

Does Target still price match? If they price match Amazon I can get FF X/X-2 for $30

I originally bought it used for $24 shipped...can get $38 after the trade in deal

OR I can buy the LE for $40?

What do GAF

Yeah, it just depends. I went with my friend when he was trading in his games just in case, but the worker didn't care about having to do multiple transactions after all. Hopefully I'll be as lucky today.

The search box says "find a Target trade-in store near you (mobility stores only)", so take that as you will. The hours shown seem to be mobility store hours rather than general Target hours, anyway.

My trip to target went well, traded in AC4, NBA2k14, and KZ:SF(all ps4 games) for $145. I just had to wait in my car for 20 min for the mobile kiosk to open.

AC4 - $51.15
KZ:SF - $43.26
NBA2k14 - $50.52

I just got about 160 dollars for south park, killzone, and BF4. I plan on rebuying South Park again before the greatest hits case comes out, but for now I'm ecstatic, unbelievable, didn't even pay that much in total for them originally.
