Target Triple Trade-in Value from 5/18-5/24

Man, the system being down was seriously annoying. I didn't know until I got to my local Target, so I should've checked this thread again before I went out, but I found that several of the games I was interested in trading in were good enough values for me to trade... they just couldn't do anything. The employee I was working with couldn't even offer me a situational guarantee that the prices we determined today would be the values I could get tomorrow when, hopefully, their system is back up.

I planned on trading Wind Waker HD in and getting the digital copy with Mario Kart 8; it was $45 yesterday. Today, it was $30. I am worried that several of the $30 titles I hope to trade in tomorrow are going to be worth $15 or even less when I go back. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I'm way too cynical not to assume the system was down so that they could adjust their pre-promotion prices down to offset the promotion's perceived value. Feh!

You wouldn't need to turn off a system to adjust prices. My guess is Nextworth who runs the trade-in for Target had a system that was being overwhelmed (not an excuse- really they should be better prepared)...but I doubt it's anything more than that...

That being said, it's possible trade in values may adjust. But if you've tracked them over the past week, they've been adjusting all over the map...and they say that on the site.

Anyone think the trade in value for Dark Souls 2 will go down? I'm pretty sure I'm almost done, can finish within a couple of days.

It's at $15, so $45 payout if it stays the same.

This is only the second day and prices plummeted this much? Shit by the end if the week, you only going to get pennies for these games.

they will probably stabilize around the $30 range for most games. the tiv they were giving out were insane.

$45-57 per title for the PS4 and Xbone games. Many were launch titles and the buyback was more than what the games were selling in store.

I missed out on the amazing deals last night, got to Target about 30 minutes late. I went this morning, ended up getting about $170 for the 6 games I traded in. inFamous: SS, Killzone: SF, Knack, Tomb Raider: DE, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and Madden 13 for Vita.

It cost me upwards of $70 by not going earlier last night, but I'm still pretty happy with the amount I got. I bought $100 in PSN cards and with the $70 I have left, I'll probably use that on my next retail game purchase.

At target right now, trading some games. I think they shut the system down on purpose. Actually became really cool with the chick who was the mobile person.

Went there earlier in the day and I was told the system was down. I got a print-out and a quote for $90 for 3 Gamecube games: Super Smash Bros Melee, Super Mario Sunshine and Zelda The Wind Waker. I came back 30 minutes before it closed and brought even more games to get triple the value but the Mobile guy told me it's only 3 per person and not 3 per transaction. The value of Sunshine dropped to 7.50 too but was able to get back the $10 price I was quoted earlier. Had a few more $10 games that would have been $30 each too. So it seems YMMV depending on who will ring you up for the promo on more than 3 games. I decided to come back tomorrow again and try with 3 more games.

It still says $10 on the site for Sunshine...weird...

Oh really I saw it for $7.50 on his register and told him the previous quote I had and he did something on the register for a few minutes but it seems there are two different Sunshine SKUs on their site. I checked and one is $10 and another is $2.50...

Ahh that must be it...weird...I wonder what the difference is...

I wonder if I can bring in 3 more games tomorrow, lol. Decided that BF4 along with two older PS3 games would get me a decent trade in value.

I prioritized getting rid of Shadow Fall yesterday because it's garbage and it was the only one of my games to not see a huge decrease. :(

You might want to turn off a system when you're worried your entire promotion might be too generous, and you want to pause and assess the situation.

Then you would have seen further value adjusting once it was turned back on (this evening)...I just think it's a shitty system setup that crashed...wouldn't be the first time...

Ugh I just realized I'll have enough to afford a 2DS after trade in. Its either

DKCTF + W101 + Pro Controller + Half of Mario Kart 8

2DS + Half of Mario Kart 8.

Think ima have to go with the first option.

Honestly you can't go wrong with either option. Especially if you don't already have a 3DS.

I am going to try today again after work to trade in my games. Looking forward to hear from the people who have the receipt printed and any others that are going to try to trade this morning.

Just checked a few games on the site and from what I can tell the values have not lowered yet.

Called my store, kiosk doesn't open until 11am EST. Turns out I strolled in there shortly after they set up yesterday.

Should have asked the guy behind me yesterday if he was a GAFfer too. Not saying where I am, but I'm wearing my black "Shad Happens" shirt today. Say hi if you see me.

Hahahahahaha, Infamous Second Son is up about $12.00 from yesterday.

Edit: Other stuff has either dropped or kept its value so far. Guess I can't complain too much.

Holy crap, I didn't realize they were taking Game Cube games! I have a ton that are no longer played going for $10 off the site meaning $30 each! That could bring me a lot closer to my dreams of getting a PS4.

You're going to see way more CAGs than Gaffers taking advantage of this. lol

I see more stores showing up using Target's own store locator with mobile option ticked than using the one on that promo site. Gonna see if they're right.

Wow, BF4/CoD Ghosts/NfS Rivals for PS4 all went up overnight.

I might have to go ahead and run up to my store. I can get around $120 total right now.

I saw a post that the mobility kiosk opens at 11 at another person's local Target. Is it pretty common for the kiosk not to open at the same time as regular store hours? I can't call for about an hour but I'm curious.

EDIT: I just noticed the store hours listed on the promotion site are for the mobility booth. Looks like my local Target mobility booth opens at 11. Tried to find one earlier but 11 AM is the earliest (other stores don't open until 1 or 3 PM).

I guess I'll recheck prices closer to 11 to see if we have another drop off. It seems like yesterday's plummet happened around late morning time, so I wouldn't be shocked if the same thing happens again.

WTF. Rayman Legends PS4 just went up to more than it was on the first day.
It's at $5 over MSRP now.

The Target near me (Northwest NJ) has its Mobile station open at 11 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m.
