Target Triple Trade-in Value from 5/18-5/24

Ahh love the Target out of the way here in Westchester. Got some fine Sistas to help me out to. Only issue is the printer was down. I told her I was an IT guy and if she doesn't mind me taking a look. Well I took a look but that shit was locked down tighter than a camels bum hole. Anyway I got my receipts emailed to me and my gift card to spend on what I please.
 
Walked in and they say their system is down. I say BS and they just don't know how to work it. I'll try tomorrow though but give them a call first.


EDIT: sounds like other people are reporting the same. Might be a nation wide lockdown due to them getting too much
 
Really wish I found out earlier that mobile guys were necessary. Ended up getting 240 instead of around 300, but it's still money I didn't have before, nonetheless.
 
Just talked to the mobile guy and he said he doubts it will be back up by the time they close. East coast here, close at 8.

I guess I will have to try tomorrow. Sucks I wasted gas. Hope the prices stay the same.

i'm hoping that Target is so new at this and there will be so many complaints that by the end of the week they will raise TiV's (while continuing the x3) just to calm the restless natives... >_<

They're great games, I've just played my fill of them, and I wasn't going to get these kinds of prices for them elsewhere. I practically sold them for retail price! Plus I've beaten them 100%, and with Mario Kart 8 coming out I won't be playing 7 anymore.

I'm not complaining cause I made out on this deal, but I'm not sure I think this was a good idea on their side... doesn't seem like a good promotion for what they wanted it to do.

You want people to use your wireless phone service and realize you have it, so you trade in... video games?! That is not really bringing awareness to cellphones. They should have had something cellphone related (it would also bring more people more interested in cellphones and who had their minds on it since the promotion). So instead you get people who game a lot who have their minds on games due to this promotion. I mean, I admit this has me thinking of Target more for video games than I did before, but if not for this thread and some one bringing up that it was supposed to be a cellphone promotion, it would not have put my mind on that at all.

I dunno, bad marketing but hey, I profitted off of it :).

Not a chance in hell. I'll be shocked in the prices don't go down when things are back up.

Yup. This is my biggest fear. That's what I went in with today, only to hear about server issues.
 
Went to Target and try to trade 3 games (XB1 NBA2k14, 360 GTAV and PS4 Killzone) and was going to get $115. However they can't give it to me because some machine broke. They told me to come another day and I guess the trade in values won't be the same.
 
Just got back from trading mine in. Got $108 for three games. The system was down, but the guy printed my receipt and gave it to me so that I can come back in and get my card without worrying that the trade in values go down.

The rep there started on my first 3 and then she said I could do whatever amount I wanted so I got the rest of them. She was super cool and said she would bring in her games for this kind of a deal. The other game in town gamestop and a game force give like a 10th of this for trades. Sucks the system went down for people who didn't get in on it.
 
Gonna print screen the FF X/X-2 HD and Dragon Quest 8 TIV since the system is down. Would be bullshit if I take it when it's up and the TIV goes down

I tried to do this the guy told me that all he could do was give me his buissness card so i can call back and ask if its back up what bullshit.

I hope this isn't true. My Target's kiosk closes in the next few mins, and the guy helping me promised that I can come back tomorrow and get my card. It would be weird if it's by the end of the day, because someone mentioned earlier that a rep said they won't be up by the end of the day. So much stuff being said that's confusing me. I'm just going to take my receipt in tomorrow and hope for the best. It's not like I can take it in immediately anyways, people are still reporting that the servers are down.

I'm unfortunately in the same boat as you. Left with receipt and just planned on having him scan it. I'm not too worried and just plan on calling tomorrow and talking with him before driving there. He knows me and the game I traded so hopefully all will be fine.
 
System was down and the girl said it could five minutes or five hours before it's back up. I held the receipt and she said she would honor the original price if things dropped when it comes back up. Getting $42 for GTA V (360) & $45 for Kinect Sports Rivals.
 
Ok, ran back up to Target and actually spoke with some manager who is working on the system restoral over the phone.

He told me that my receipt has a barcode on it (which it does). He told me that as long as I have that print out w the barcode, even if the prices do drop before I get to return, the price will be honored.

Take it for what it's worth, but it might not be a bad idea to head up, get your games scanned, and get the printout of the prices just to be on the safe side. Just make sure it has a barcode on it.

Something tells me that this deal isn't going to hold up if and when Target's servers come back online.

What an idiotic deal.

The trade-in servers are offline nationwide, right? The stores in Columbus are all saying that's the case and to try them tomorrow.
 
Sweet! I just called back to my Target and the guy is gonna hook me up. Over the phone he wrote down my name, my drivers license #, rang up the games I'm bringing in, and he's gonna give me today's value for the games just in case they go down tomorrow. He told me to just bring them in tomorrow.

I dunno, I feel like a triple trade value promotion was always doomed to backfire. That's insane. I don't feel bad for using it, but at the same time I don't think I blame Target for backpedaling on the trade values a bit.

Like, holy shit. A 50% value boost is usually enough to get people in for a promotion. A 300% boost?
