Target Triple Trade-in Value from 5/18-5/24

2nd trip was a success!

9 games (old and newer ones) for $234.96 woot!

Yeah guys use the main store locator and tick the mobile option for more store selections. Every Target mobile kiosk should have this promotion.

The clerk there was really excited to learn about this too and gonna trade in his games as well.

Systems are back up guys.

Made a total of $370! Mostly I traded in old GCN games and/or games I've already completed, so I'm feeling pretty great. Waiting for E3 to decide on getting a Xbox One or PS4 with my gift cards!

This deal is like the stock market. Do I sell today, or take my chances and see where the price is at tomorrow? It's all a big gamble!

Had a few games I wanted to take in yesterday, but they'd dropped quite a bit since Sunday. Now they're back up, and I'm glad I didn't make it in yesterday.

Checking my game collection is both funny and sad. Why do I have 3 copies of Disgaea 3, 2 copies of KZ2, 4 copies of Demon Souls and 2 copies of Cross Edge and many other duplicates?! God I feel dumb.

Wow! Trade in values actually went back up for Knack ($22 yesterday to $32 today) and CoD Ghosts (it was also like $22-23 yesterday, now it's $31 today). Was not expecting that. If anything, I was expecting another drop.

I wonder if I can get those prices even though he got all my info yesterday. Kind of like cancelling out the trade in and re-doing another. No money was ever put on a gift card, so I don't see why they wouldn't be able to.

Bought Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes for $24.99 yesterday.

Returning it for $24 credit today.

Man, I don't know what to say about that game. It's all very technically and mechanically accomplished, but it also not very fun at all.

Tried to trade in my ACIV PS4 copy I bought from Target at launch. It's designated as the "Target Edition" or some nonsense. They were unable to accept it yesterday since it wasn't in their system. So ridiculous.

Oh well, going back today since it's working to tradein my games.

Traded in PS3 AC4 got over $27. Paid only 3 bucks at a pawn shop so made a nice flip.

360 GTA5 netted me $49 and change. Paid $40 for it when it came out.

Lego Marvel 360 got me $37+. Paid $25 on black friday.

So PS3 AC4 and 360 GTA5 got a price bump from yesterdays TIV.

I'm very happy for what I got from those 3 games.

That's exactly what they told me yesterday when I said the prices plummeted because of people flipping haha

So I guess I'm going for a drive today back to my parents' house to see if I can find all my old games from nearly a decade ago. $30 for select GameCube titles? Insanity.

Yea, they wouldn't take my Dead Rising 3 copy because it was the "Day One" edition.

Just got back from Target. I got $78 for Super Mario Sunshine (GC/$30), MLB 14 (PS4/$42) and Hunter the Reckoning (GC/$6). Now to wait for E3/Black Friday.

Maybe other people have said this and it sounds like common sense but if you've got a smartphone have the trade in page open. Sometimes the cashier would tell me a game wasn't on the list and I'd show him it was and to check again and lo and behold.

Digimon Rumble Arena 2 for Gamecube is weird. It's listed twice. One for $30, and the other for $5. I'm not planning on selling it (my friend told me it's worth a lot more then $30 to some people, and I like the game), but it's just something weird I noticed.

Anyways, mine opens back up in an hour. Hope nothing goes wrong this time.

So, to be clear: people are listing off older games that they've traded in that don't come up on the website. Are people just taking the games in to see what they're worth, or am I just not understanding how to find the value of those games on the site?

If a game doesn't show up on the website when you search for it, try searching harder. Because if it isn't on the site, it's not in the system.

I've heard of games being removed from the system, btw.

Just a heads up, the games Target accepts fucking sucks. Like I tried to trade in Amazing Spider-man 2, and our mobile guy said the most recent game they have in their computers that they can accept is Stick of Truth.

They'll take ASM2, but it's spelled The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Just have them search Amazing.

Don't just take the word of any random retail employee about promotions or policies. They often have no clue what is going on in their own store.

I had to do this for Cross Edge, since it didn't come up. I had to tell the guy to type in "Edge", and it appeared. I think the game had some weird name on the site, like "X Edge" or something.

Some titles are like that. To find ni no kuni, you have to search just for kuni (or witch).

do they give you separate gift cards for every 3 games or can you just keep using the same gift card?

My Target gave me separate ones each transaction, but I'd imagine this is entirely dependent on the individual store and who you're dealing with.

So according to this, the base value of most of the GC games with no case are 6.40. So 19.20 for each of these 10 games? Sold. Will make a trip to Target within 2 hours. Thanks for this thread guys and gals here, as well as OP.

Just went and traded in 9 games at my local target. Went in expecting to get $188 (calculated values before I went). Walked away with $208 so some of the values must have changed again (luckily in my favor!).

Games I traded: Last of Us, Tearaway, Rayman Legends (Vita), Smash Bros Brawl, Wind Waker HD, Dark Souls II (PS3), Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Galaxy 2 & Ni No Kuni.

Jeez.
Sunday's value for my games was $350
Yesterday's was $270
Today's is $300.
Do I bite or not? This really is like the stock market lol.
