Target Triple Trade-in Value from 5/18-5/24

Does this apply just to the US? Target stores have opened up in Canada, more specifically Winnipeg, im wondering if the deal works here too?

I'd definitely say upgrading the TV would be your best "gaming" upgrade, if that's where you do most of your gaming. 21 inches just sounds too small to do most games justice!

I spent all my $ (~400) on Steam and Nintendo eShop cards, as well as an 8 quart stainless steel pan. Needed it for cooking some pasta.

If I were you..I'd sell the 21" on Craigslist, and take that money + the $410 to get a nice $500ish TV. They have some decent sets at that price!

I have the slightly better/3DTV version of that, and am perfectly content with the quality/performance I got from it.

Yeah I went ahead and upgraded. I was going to get a 39 inch samsung but they didnt have it so this really REALLLLY nice manager told me that she'll give me the 40 inch samsung with smart tv capabilities with the same price (from 499 to 399)

But yeah, I might go back tomorrow with some older games because I really want to get rid of clutter and the backlog. The employee that did my trades did all my transactions.. like all 5 transactions. He was cool and we were talking about how they would play smash bros brawl when he saw me trading the game in.

Man I had my SM3DW ready today and went to wipe it down and somehow just lightly wiping in a straight up and down manner, put 2-3 deep scratches in it. The game still plays fine but I doubt they would take it.

I feel like such a moran. Are Wii U discs prine to easy scratches or something?

Did you wipe it with sandpaper? I've never personally had a problem with WiiU discs or heard anybody ever complain.

The guy that checked my games only checked for the inserts. Not once did he examine a game disc whatsoever. Not to imply that it is okay to sell back a scratched disc, but still.. A couple small scratches that don't affect playability whatsoever are probably all good

I am about to scan Craigslist and purchase every single $30 copy of GTA 5 on there.

Wii U discs don't have the standard Blu-ray coating? Cheapass Nintendo.

That's really weird. I feel like Wii U discs are really scratch resistant. I literally wipe them with whatever shirt I'm wearing if I see dust or fingerprints and none of mine have any hint of a scratch.

I've actually never taken a Wii U disc out and looked at it. It's just that scratching a disc with the TDK process on it with your shirt would be impossible. Well, unless you got your shirt damp and then stuck it in some beach sand first.

Some of the prices on the 360 games are nice. GTAV, Dark Souls, BOII and Bioshock Infinite would net me ~$91.

It seems almost worth it just to get a 2DS bundle for some $20ish dollars.

EDIT: Does anyone know if they're extending this offer to other games not listed on the website? I.e.: Red Dead Redemption

After you use the code and register the code to MogStation you never need the disc anymore. It's just a coaster at that point. In this case though, a $30 coaster.

weird so you basically end up with a digital version of the game for $10 with no disk check? what happens if you delete the install? do you need to have a disk to re-install or can you just download the client from psn?

So I traded in more games today but there was a discrepancy between the values on the site and the ones given in store.

Yoshi's New Island (3DS) traded in for $30.33
Dark Souls II (PS3) traded in for $36
Battlefield 4 traded in for $35.82

Values should've been $37.98, Dark Souls II $45, and Battlefield 4 $44.79 per the store website.

fyi those look like the values you would get if the person ringing you up said you were missing stuff. i.e. missing manual or insert for bf4 = $11.94 x 3

Yeah, just found that out. Suppose they entered it incorrectly because all my stuff was complete. Guess I have to go and bitch tomorrow.

Good luck. You signed a thing saying you were okay with those prices, so I wouldn't hold your breath for any recompense.

Did the employee not show you the numbers and verify with you that they were okay? I've done three trades so far, and each time I verified that they were selecting no, yes, yes, and that "this is a promotional item!" was on screen.

Hmm apparently you can trade the PS4 version of FFXIV for $30.

$30 for a useless disc and case. Yay!

I can't find it. Either this is false/you were mistaken, or FFXIV's since been removed.

Man, so glad I went out of the way to get to Target to trade my Gamecube games yesterday, seems the price dropped on a lot from $10 to $5 now!

I had gone at 12 and the mobile guy wasn't there until 2. Debated just waiting until today to go, but went for it. So happy I did!

It's based on demand. I personally traded in my games in order of what I thought the popularity would be. I think I've only lost about $5-10.

Does anyone know or have tried with hardware. My girl has a purple 3ds but wants an XL. The 3ds system shows up under the trade in games as 53$ and change, wonder if this will work for the triple trade in?

Anyone?

I know there's a separate electronics trade in, but this shows under the games trade in link.

games only

It's so tempting to cash in on the values for some GameCube titles, but I'm having a hard time convincing myself to essentially gut my GC collection for some store credit. It'd be one thing if the 'Cube wasn't dead and buried and I could re-buy the games should I so desire -- and not pay scalper tax -- but I kicked myself (and still do) for selling off prior system's libraries after they were discontinued. Can't bring myself to do it again.

...and that's saying a lot when I'm looking at $180+ for like 5 or 6 games.

The way I look at it: I don't have enough time to play the modern games I want to play, let alone the games I've collected over the years. If the time comes that I must play a particular game, I'll get it digitally, if possible, or simply repurchase it, replay it, and resell it.

yep. i used to be hoarder...but around last gen i realized i wasn't playing any of these games and most of them weren't going to be "rare" titles that you could hold on to and sale later. made much more financial sense to trade them in and use that tiv towards new games.

also...helps with the backlog...and i know there are tons of gaffers with an addiction issue who are realistically never going to play or finish these games lol

I'm guessing she kept swiping and was getting a system error, but with each swipe, it was actually adding the credit to the GC.

Thats exactly what happen. While I was there the night before she tried to scan about 10-15 cards. Some of those cards she tried 5-6 times. After they didn't work she just placed them back in the box, and pulled another out. Then when I went back yesterday she just pulled the same cards out and ran my 3 separate transactions. Each added to the cards again. Had I known and just left I would of had like 1100$. But when she went to add them all on one card the total on each card showed up and she was like Woah that isn't right.

God damn, most of the games I was going to trade in today got their prices halved. Well, good for everyone who got in when things were good. Looks like this shit is over.

And TIVs are halved on GCN games.

MFer. Was going to take my 2 GCN games in during my lunch break today. I guess $30 is still pretty good for games I havent touched in 5+ years.

EDIT: Blah...more than half on one of them.

EDIT2: $68 for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (X360), Mario Party 8 (Wii) and Eternal Darkness (GC) is a decent haul. Enough for a free game at some point in the future.

So uhh Final Fantasy XIII seems to have been removed from the website. It showed up earlier in the week for me but it won't show up now :\

Looks like I got lucky with trading in Titanfall for 360, I traded mine for $42 now its only $30. Same with the GCN games, I knew buying two copies of Killer 7 would be worthwhile when Hollywood Video was going out of business, they were like $8 a piece and I got $60 for them!

Seems like I got lucky today! So I took 4 3DS games in- Pokemon X and Y, Zelda, and Kingdom Hearts. I was supposed to get around $120 for everything, I believe. I didn't check the card balances when I left the Mobile counter. My girl and I were walking around looking for small stuff to buy, we found some shorts, candy, dog toys, and my Watch_Dogs preorder for PS4. I checked out with one of the gift cards I was handed, looked at the reciept: BOOM. $212.60 credit left on the card.

Needless to say, I joined VitaGAF today! I also got my girlfriend a TV! All together we walked out with about $270 worth of cards from the different transactions today and two days ago. Only traded like 7 games, one of which was fucking Morrowind.

Thank you #basedTarget

Oooh, congrats. This is a good year for Vita :) (as in seems to have a lot of interesting stuff happening for it). And there's lots of good games for it already (and I'm loving Borderlands 2. Even tried MP yesterday and while it was definitely more glitchy with MP it was still fun <-warning, I'm pretty forgiving of games, I played Fallout on my PS3 and enjoyed it despite how not well it ran. I'd say with MP it plays a little better than Fallout does on the PS3).

Also, get Killzone and Persona 4, easily the best games for Vita ;). And I personally would rate Ys. Memories of Celcetta with those two (but that's not as universal an opinion).

Also, Freedom Wars looks like it's going to be awesome :).
