Wrong place, bad timing, whatever.
King Balls.

Its just that I took that 'joke' as being on JFK, not Ted. Considering I'm one of the older gaf members, and he was assassinated over a decade before my birth, I was wondering exactly when it would no longer be 'too soon'.

Well it was obviously a joke about Ted and JFK. But still....dayum

I don't know; for me, contempt for Kennedy's actions is kind of contained in the realm of anger at celebrity / relatives of powerful people not being accountable for their actions AND intoxicated driving not being dealt with nearly harshly enough for anyone, let alone celebrities.

As for why people are so angry when people get away with shit like that...? Well, many of us don't believe in divine justice, so when people get to totally skip out on earthly justice due to being de facto royalty, that's kind of irritating to say the least.

even tho im generally left-center, i agree with the conservatives in htis forum. the drunk driving incident shouldn't be ignored.

that said, what JayDubya says is applicable to so many many successful politicians, the bulk of them conservatives [because they are in power...and no, i don't mean the administration only]. Hypocrisy and frustration and partisan bias is a two-way street.

No, it shouldn't be ignored. But he did pay a price and some justice was done. But this definitely was a case of a famous/rich person getting off easier.

But if people are really gonna hate him for that then they should hate Bush for using connections to get into the 'Champange' unit of the Air National Guard so he didn't have to fight in Vietnam.

hate bush? what is this foreign concept?

I steered clear of posting in this thread, having mixed feelings about Ted Kennedy.

Great politician, good for the country... not a piece of sh*t like the criminals who have been nailed the last several years.

Obviously, he has a f*cking huge skeleton in his closet...

But what ToxicAdam said about JFK, what a f*cking douchebag piece of sh*t he is.

Damn...

I hope his family is ready for his death. Nasty way to go.

I'm sorry. I'm sorry for the lives lost, I'm sorry for the words said, I'm sorry that the world is falling apart before us.

I'll weep for his death like I do all others. His and many others lives may take a sharp turn, they may be filled with violence and anger, hatred and stupidity, but I will weep for another lost light.

All life is sacred, even those of our worst enemies, even those of our biggest failures. My thoughts are with him and his family, and with the million others that died this year. All life should be cherished, even that of our foes.

:lol WTF is wrong with some people. For example, this person committed suicide recently and used to torture the hell out of me in middle school. But I would never ever wish for someone to do that, regardless....and for people to wish just because of political affiliation that someone would die...ugh. BANNINGS
