Question for the Comic readers: Are we supposed to feel bad for Tera? I've heard that in the Teen Titian show they made Tera too sympathetic and this colder portrayal is more inline with the comics.

I haven't read it but I heard she's a huge piece of shit in the comic all the way through too.

Yes.
However for the role she plays the animated series portrayal works better than the source material imo.
