Tekken 8's presentation is brilliant and complements the intense, more offense-oriented gameplay perfectly. Another highlight is how the game tries to introduce beginners into Tekken and gives them several tools for self-improvement, like the replay tips. On the flipside, this support doesn't include intermediates which is a missed chance. Also, the single player modes are quite short. Overall Tekken 8 still takes our place as best fighting game of the current gen as the gameplay and presentation are superb.

Compared to previous entries, Online Mode is a huge improvement. The net code has been improved a lot since Tekken 7, and that was already evident in the previous tests that the game had. Ultimately, the greatest thing about Tekken 8 is that I can picture myself playing this game for years to come. Whether that be by myself, with my friends, family, or even a complete stranger, the fight will always keep bringing me back. Tekken 8 is a fighting game masterpiece and could even be a frontrunner for the best fighting game of all time.

what nice surprise. I can't fucking wait. it's been a while since I bought a game day one outside of Call of Duty.

I just hope this means Soul Calibur 7 is coming in my lifetime.

I always hated Tekken and it's insane juggles when compared to Virtua Fighter. But it's one of the best games to watch at Evo so I'm looking forward to watching that.

I'm surprised it's Unreal 5. I thought fighting games were all on custom engines for some reason. That gives me a tiny bit of hope for Soul Calibur.

Easy pre order. Demo is fantastic, and that new “easy combo” toggle mid match is going to be a game changer at low and high level.

So many great looking stages , characters, and a solid netcode.

Harada and his team managed to top tekken 7 which I was skeptical of. Once you get hands on it and go lab mode monstering, you see how much thought was put into every stitch of the combat.

This and SF6 are giant labors of love.

When I was about 12 years old I owned my last Tekken game. This 6ft 6 drug dealer I knew in his 20s used to kick my ass on Tekken Tag over and over again. He would tell me often "I was born with Tekken my son". I've never purchased another Tekken game since.

3D fighters are the most brutal if you don't truly understand defense on high, mid, low and which hits leave you at a disadvantage when blocked. If you face someone who has that down, you just can't even touch them. Steeper learning curve than most fighters, but super fun if you get it. The command lists are usually much larger as well.

They already had 2 netcode tests. The netcode is much better than Tekken 7 for sure.

Japan has always been saving gaming since the inception. I’d argue the west is the one trying to burn it to the ground like the music and films industry.

Granted Japan sold its soul to mobile and gacha, but at least kept the heart thanks to specific companies never backing down. (Capcom, From Soft, etc)
