My (and other peoples') problem is that she's badly miscast. Sarah Connor's character needs an actor in the vein of Linda Hamilton, Sigourney Weaver, or whereabouts.

Why does Sarah Connor have to be like that though? You're basing it off the past films. This Sarah Connor has to be whatever the writers want her to be. That is Emilia Clarke.

You guys are total lol. It looks rad. Emelia doesn't look "bad". She is necessarily a different actress. I don't know what y'all were expecting, except to say you think a popular franchise should stop making movies because you really liked the one that came out in 1991.

Obviously a recast is going to be a different actress by necessity.

But there are degrees of suitability to a role. Most people here would agree that Lena Headey is a pretty good choice for Sarah, because she has a good balance of sternness and sensitivity that Emilia Clarke doesn't.

And, yeah, maybe some franchises should die because they have nothing left to say. Like this one has for a couple installments now.

Will watch for Lee Byung-hun. Hopefully he does that amazing running punt kick he seems to do in like every action movie he's in.

Other than that this looks sooooooooo.....2014

You know what would have been cooler? If Michael Beihn was brought back and the whole movie is an old Kyle Reese fighting an old terminator through time. If the series is going to end with this one it should go out on a badass note.

Is it me, or the first split second shots of Emilia and Lee really kinda resemble Hamilton and Patrick respectfully?

With Lee, his mannerism and look turning his head right before he was hit by the truck was like Robert Patrick's asian brother as someone stated.

I wouldn't really say that definitively. Clarke is short and has a young "pretty" look, but it's more about the character and how she's written than looking the part, though having both would be optimal.

I still have yet to make my mind about Clarke as an actress since her only big role was GoT, but she's without a doubt a "mainstream" star who plays a strong female character.

Internet fan boy cynicism is the worst. Too busy patting each other on the back, making a centrifugal force machine of negative fun, to even be open minded.

Looks good to me, and I'm a huge fan of the Terminator movies (tho 3 had some cringe worthy moments)

Internet fan boy cynicism, yeah, that's why people were so hyped in the Star Wars teaser trailer thread... right?
There's a right way of doing a sequel to a movie beloved by millions, and a wrong way, guess which path this movie took.

Probably because the living tissue on endo-skeleton gets old much quicker than living human. After all, that living tissue is to deceive human beings & also to allow machines to travel time.

That explains why the old T800 was waiting for new T800 (which looks young). - Terminator that grows old (on outside) very quickly, it seems.

Or, Sarah and Kyle timetravel to the future from 1984, whilst The T800 has to stay behind, heroically protecting them while the flee. only to meet up with them in the future, where he's even older.

That was my take from the trailer at least.

I'm confused.

1) They're clearly trying to portray her as badass. That intent is displayed in the very first scene of the trailer she appears in. Unfortunately, it's sort of at odds with a petite girl who flinches when she shoots a gun.

2) Are you going to suggest that there are never any bad miscasts? Maybe, sometimes the writers and casting people are out-of-lockstep with each other.

Up until Reese got sent back it looked ok , but I'm not sure , everything else looked a bit......off. Emilia Clark will take some getting used to as Sarah Conor

Day 1 for Lee Byung Hun, box office hit for Korea confirmed.
Isn't he currently involved in some court case for sexual harassment? That may negatively affect Korean Box Office returns for him.

If it wasn't for Arnold, no one would care for this mess. Why Arnold, why?

Or how about people watched the trailer and didn't like what they saw ? Unbelievable to some I know but that's life.

Now I know what it feels like to know something bad is going to happen on a certain date and be completely helpless to stop it.

John Connor's witch-like chin is really bothering me. Trailer is bad.. I'm already sick of the song in it after hearing it in the Nightcrawler trailer and in a tv show commercial. They're relying too much on T2 scenes are characters and wtf is with that flipping bus? It's more ridiculous than The Dark Knight's flipping semi truck.

I'll still see this lol.

Casting Lee Byung-hun as the T-1000 is interesting. Liking the look of that but what's the story here?

John sends Kyle back to the T1 timeline but that's been altered because the T-800 that got sent there was already destroyed by Old Arnold who was waiting for it? Where did the aged T-800 come from?

And I'm assuming because it's a new altered timeline, the T-1000 is the T2 T-1000 but as a different actor.

Am I missing something?

So from a 2 second clip of her firing a pistol, a flinch and her, height? weight?, you've come to the conclusion that she can't portray someone who can take care of herself? Strange, but ok, opinions.

Not sure about the second but but this first bit seems right to me. We don't quite know where "old-t800" came from yet. Unless I'm also missing something?

In my totally subjective opinion, because it gives depth to her character.

Now she will be a badass at the start and a badass at the end. What do you do with her? What's the point?

His hair was only white during the helicopter scene though... he had his normal hair color in the rest of the trailer.

true to that - maybe his degeneration got much faster towards the end of the movie? anyhow that's my best guess...

If you're talking about the shot where he "arrives" (rises), it looks lifted from the 1984 original... not re-created in CG. Re-used footage. They just changed the BG behind him a bit...

If you look close there are a significant number of differences. I actually think they recreated the shot from 84 with CGI in the same post and very similar lighting.

A trailer is meant to make an impression.

It is a marketing tool to SELL YOU ON A FILM.

And you're saying I cannot use it to make an impression? Strange but ok opinions.

Well, people complained that CG Arnold in Salvation looked fake.

If you're going to use 80's Arnold maybe lifting a shot from the actual movie is a smart thing?

The second one is clearly CGI, pretty bad CGI.

Too bad they showed the "I'll be back" line already. Should've kept that under wraps and see the theater explode.
