I can understand the targeting of a government, but on why on Earth would he target kids? Terrorism is to terrorise, right, but international terrorists like this often do it to influence foreign policy e.g. like in Spain.

WHAT?

Looks shifty, I know that much. Eyes are too close together.

It says 'United In Struggle' on the t-shirt.
I don't know if he's one of the terrorists, but that shitface's shirt celebrates the ties between Spain's ETA and Ireland's IRA.

Poor guy. Bad call by the paper putting his picture in an article that is sure to be found by non-norwegian readers. Not only will he be blamed (unjustly, of course) for getting the guy over there, he'll also have interesting Google image searches to look forward to.

To reiterate: THAT'S NOT THE SHOOTER, JUST A GUY WHO WAS ONE OF THE MANAGERS/GUARDS!

This is that shirt:

If it's a neo-nazi -attack it's understandable, the youth wing of the labour party is very pro-immigration and multiculturalism in Norway. If not..........
Like some of us said before it is highly unlikely that this is an extreme right wing group, it would pretty much destroy all extreme right wing and neo-nazi movements across Europe. That might not be a bad thing to be sure but I doubt one of their members would ruin their own movement like this.

As impossible as it sounds it seems to look more and more like some sort of lone lunatic on a rampage if the two events are connected.

He gave them permission. :\

They targeted the Labour party offices and the Labour party youth camp.

Sounds to me like some internal right-wing nuttery. Like that dipshit who loaded his truck full of guns to attack the ACLU in San Francisco.

Why do we even need to see a photo of some guard? Now dozens of people will mistakenly think that's the shooter...

Targeting the party and the children of the party seems more home grown...than an international reason...

That is a good point.

They did NOT target labour party offices. The offices were those of the Norwegian Executive Branch, which currently consists of the Labour Party and two other parties.

Why do you think neo-nazis are incapable of being stupid?

norwegian papers will not under any circumstances release a picture of a suspect unless the police requests it; ie the suspect is still at large and a danger to others. The man in question is currently held by police - there will not be any pictures of him online any time soon.

Can someone who can actually read the article explain what that guy is doing and why he is wearing that shirt?

-First he was the guy
-Then he was a guard
-Then he gave them permission
-Now he is shown wearing that shirt

WTF is going on

I love how some channels go crazy with assumptions 5 minutes after the blast. I'm happy that Norway's PM knows how to handle this situation.

They haven't lasted this long being suicidically retarded.

If the attackers were far righters, they have to belong to some extra-crazy splinter group.

They have done such a good job gaining social acceptability around the world, why would they risk it now just when they're being seen as a lovable force for positive change?

To everyone:

HE'S A SECURITY GUARD AND HE WAS THE ONE GUARDING THE FERRY TO THE ISLAND

Because right wingers are 'winning' all over Europe right now. They do stupid shit all the time but blowing up a government building and going on a rampage at a summer camp is usually not what these neo-nazi nutcases do.

Apparently he's just a guard so how fucking weird is that?

I find that shirt disturbing too. What are the odds he would wear that kind of clothe on that picture.

I don't know, I'm confused.

edit : I know it's the guard.

At this point I am kinding hoping that it is muslim extremists and not Neo-Nazis. I work as a security guard at the foreign unit of the police, the ones responsible for registering asylum seekers and deporting the ones rejected. If it is far right, anti-immigration extremists that are responsible, then I can think of less likely targets than my workplace. I leave for work in less than an hour. -_-

Anybody watching Sky News right now? Are those bodies lying in the middle of the island that they keep flying over? There are bodies in the dock area in the water also. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more dead.

They're now saying that kids could have drowned because the water is very cold and there are strong currents.

That doesn't necessarily make neo-nazis happy though, Dutch neo-nazis certainly aren't happy with the very pro-Israel PVV. Besides, you only need one nutcase.

If I was that guy I'd feel like complete shit.

It might be some kind of self-punishment to allow your photo to be released to the public.

Explosion (the one earlier today, the only one) apparently happened inside the government building now, 3rd or 4th floor.

This looks more and more neonazi related. If that's ends up being the case, it is game over for them, period. They prey upon victimism, this type of terrorist attack completely screws their whole political narrative. Also, fuck them and their ideology too. Ideological poison is still poisonous, as abstract as it is.

So right wing political parties throughout Europe = neo-nazi.
