Edit: the police also found undetonated explosives on Utøya, so it seems the guy really had planned this ahead

When adults do stupid shit and kill each other I just kind of shrug these days and don't dwell on it too much. That's the fucked up world we live in. But when someone goes out and kills kids, teenagers, etc. it makes my blood boil. If this was home grown aimed at a political party why go after the kids? Most kids that age don't care at all about politics. It'd be like someone gunning down a Boy Scout troop because they think the leaders of Boy Scouts of America are too conservative.

My heart goes out to Norway. I mean Norway? Really? Americans are used to these kind of shooting rampages, but it's got to be unfathomable to Norway.

I don't know. The Island is very small from the images we've seen. Earlier today we heard one eye witness claiming he say up to 25 people dead in the water.

It takes about 40mins to reach the Island from Oslo, and there was a 90-120min window between the two incidents being reported. So the guy had around an hour before the police got to him. It was reported that there were 500 people on this small Island.

Some things can't be understood if the person in question is crazy and you are not. Don't make yourself nuts trying to understand why someone would kill children to make a political point. You don't have it within yourself to understand, because you aren't a psychopath or sociopath. At least 80 people died when a gunman opened fire at an island youth camp in Norway, hours after a bomb attack on the capital, Oslo, police say.

Police in Norway are questioning a 32- year-old Norwegian man in connection with both attacks.

The man was arrested on the tiny Utoeya island where police say he opened fire on teenagers.

The attacks are the worst Norway has seen since World War II.

At least seven people died in the earlier bombing, which seriously damaged a number of government buildings in the heart of Oslo.

Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, whose Oslo offices were among those badly hit by the blast, described the attacks as "bloody and cowardly".
