Just wait until you see it. OK?PhoenixDark said:...
Why are people so excited over this? I mean, Tetris is cool and everything, but it's old. If I want a DS puzzler I'll buy Meteos. Come on. -_-
VanMardigan said:I'm happy, not because I care about Tetris (though my wife surely will), but because I was beginning to wonder when we'd get more wi-fi games. Other than Metroid, I hadn't heard of another confirmed wi-fi title.
Jonnyboy117 said:That game was, by all accounts, pure shit, so THQ wisely decided not to release it at all. I'm sure this new Tetris DS is a completely different game.
And what's up with all these people saying THQ has the Tetris license? Tetris is owned by Blue Planet Software (Henk Rogers's company, formerly called Bulletproof Software), and BPS decides which companies to license the series to. Do we know for sure that the licenses are exclusive? Remember that Nintendo AND Capcom released versions of Tetris on N64, and other companies released versions in Japan.

I was thinking the same thing, but a little bit different: the bottom of the "well" keeps moving up towards the top of the screen, and you have to draw the designated piece and eliminate lines in order to keep it from reaching the top. Could be interesting at the very least.marvelharvey said:I want to draw my own shapes as they fall!! On 2nd thought, that'd be too easy

Roders5 said:So does anyone reckon it will be played using the two screens for the whole level (which might be hard cause of the break in the middle), or just the one screen for playing and the other screen full of Marios/Zeldas dancing or something?

GreenGlowingGoo said:Simple! For normal controls: The action will be normal tetris on the top screen, the bottom screen will be black expect for the blinking word "pause". The bottom screen is the pause button.
For Touch control: The action happens in the bottom screen as you guide the blocks down to their best location while the top screen is black except for the blinking word "pause".
Brilliant!

Danj said:Sweet, yet another reason why I should buy a DS. Pity I (still) don't have any money...

Both Pokemon Diamond and Pearl will have connectivity to the Pokemon series for the GBA and GameCube, and users will be able to port their pocket monsters from previous installments to the DS. Masuda also commented that he expects the games to use the DS's Wi-Fi capabilities to connect simultaneously with 16 players and that the touch-sensitive screen will be employed during gameplay.

Can't say this is written in stone, but it's some indication there can be more than 4.
I'd also expect some items that'll mess up your queue, and thus screw up your strategy, which will be pretty cool.GreenGlowingGoo said:I'm worried about such a long queue of blocks. Part of the fun was hoping the next block would be the one you need, this one has 6 in advance. I think it'll take out some of the desparation in the faster levels. Maybe that's customizable.
Also it would be neat if there was a way to alter the width of the playing field, so the number of squares needed to make a line are increased or decreased.
