TGN: Crackdown 3 ranks third most played game on Xbox One globally! Beats RDR2, FH4, COD, etc. (Campaign)

Crackdown 3 has climbed the ladder beating games like GTA V, Bops4, Forza Horizon 4, and RDR2 to become the 3rd most played game on Xbox Globally according to TGN's tracker. However this is only for the campaign, which is tracked separately from the MP for some reason, the MP is at 22.

This means a few things, one, Crackdown 3 is getting A Lot of players which is good, secondly most players are interested in the free roamimg action gameplay of the campaign, which is also great!!! BUT bad news is that the main advertised feature of the game, the MP mode wrecking Zone with cloud damage, did not interest people as much as the devs likely suspected. Instead most are interested in the SP.

But at the same time, more gamers are playing Crackdown 3 in general, especially SP, than big games like Bops4 and RDR2, combined, which is an AMAZING SUCCESS! Only Apex and Fortnite are ahead. CD3 continues to climb!

Also tune in for tomorrow's developer video from the Crackdown team talking about content and updates, as well as (rumored) statements on CD3s Market performance.

Below is the chart:

I say congratulations to the Crackdown 3 team. It must have been nerve wracking to have all those delays and mixed reviews, but it all worked out in the end.

Which of those games on the list cost $2 at launch?

You'll notice that two even-cheaper games (Fortnite and Apex) are also higher upon the list. Huh, wonder why.

You're going to ignore those low costs games further down the list because??? Let's lay back on the hating guys.

The only other ones I see are SMITE (#27) and Roblox (#20).

Context is important. It's nice that it has a lot of players right now, but there are perfectly good reasons why that is the case (like the low cost). Let's give it a month.

The thing you aren't getting is it wasn't even too 20 the first two days after launch. It climbed up a bunch in a short time. While it won't give us numbers in total, it at least tells us that people are becoming more interested.

I do agree that legs are important though.

Wow, Xbox must have a pretty poor selection of games if they are playing even Crackdown 3!

(Just kidding, but these threads always go like this.)

That's not what it's saying at all!

It's saying the people who were/are interested gave it a shot and that's all!

Sad to say that people do let the words of others dictate how and what they play more than you would like to believe. So for $2 I'd of tried it out tooand just because I did for a few minutes doesn't mean it did what it was supposed to do because sales numbers tell a different story!

There's way too many crackdown threads all over every forum because a lot of people are really disappointed inside and need to find a way to justify all this compared to how others systems are doing exclusive wise and that's sad too!

Uh no. Read the post again it "increased" after launch so it's been gaing interest over time. This objectively means that more are suddenly becoming interested in the game. For now.

Also all my Crackdown threads, and the OT, are actual content, the other threads you see are basically undercover trolling.

Be careful, you are not supposed to say anything positive about Crackdown 3 around here. It's the worst game ever made with Atari graphics 😁

Congrats to Sumo Digital

Nobody is undercover trolling, sorry to have struck a nerve but it's the truth!

A game in development this long shouldn't have been released for $2. So after a month then let's talk about them numbers then and let's see you spin that.

Other than that I have been waiting for the power of the cloud to see how well it could move gaming forward and this was the game that was gonna lead the charge and it seems it fell flat!

The power of the cloud brought a shitstorm as hardly anyone even mentions the multiplayer and collecting orbs only lasts for so long!

Console wars are the only reason why threads like this exist, and it's clearly a fanboy thread clearly going wrong.

Have a good day but I was really looking forward to seeing how this game turned out technically.

Edit: was really hoping the cloud worked and dreamt of a bad company game with that type of promised destruction going would ha e been phenomenal

Well i just got to play Anthem for £1 on Origin, stoopid EA.

How so? The game came out Friday, of course it will be high on the play list since it is on GP. I'm not sure what there is to celebrate.

Something tells me this thread wont last long, compared to the 587 other Crackdown threads.
Cmon we have not had the I married my Xbox but got a divorce as I was having an affair with my ps4 as crackdown sent me over the edge thread yet.

You want to hope days gone is not a bomb

Just read posts history's and comments. There are a few ppl tht will spin this mediocrity into positivity no matter what. Some ppl really seem on the payroll.

He only came to the thread to troll just ignore him.

Not here to troll I explained my reasoning and this is an open forum correct?

Now it's trolling pointing out the obvious about a game and console you care about now? When did we ever get so attached to anything we start lableling people who are just being honest?

Same could be said for any of the other systems as we're still waiting to see how that long awaiting final fantasy 7 remake is doing!

Regardless of what Microsoft say in public, they probably wrote off Crackdown long ago. If Crackdown is getting people to sign up and get invested into Gamepass, then Microsoft are probably more than happy with that.

No i got Origin Access for £1 for a month. Putting new games on these services are what gets people to sign up.

Sign up on PC cool, but we're talking a long awaiting console sequel that's apparently not doing so well. How is this keeping the studios alive or for that matter warranting the franchise to continue?

Game pass was a Hail Mary of a service just like Sony we're throwing them Hail Marys last gen. Putting this game on game pass and then coincidentally drop the price to $2 dollars right as the game launched spelled trouble!

It spelled an oppotunity to get thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of new people invested into Gamepass. $2 for 2 months, and the new Crackdown, just think about that.

Just acknowledge that he proved his point and stop trying to find a way to shit post on yet another positive Xbox thread. Jesus Christ.

Some of you guys are absolutely stunning with your negative rhetoric. Give it a rest. You're acting like you're afraid of Crackdown #3 succeeding.

Interest has grown substantially since its realease - passing up much bigger games. This does in fact prove that interest is growing for the game at a high rate. This IS a good thing.

The official weekly charts will be more accurate. It should have a lot of players day one. They're daily rankings but track weekly totals.

For instance apex has yet to take over fortnite... and rdr2 has begun dropping fast. That can and will change tomorrow.

So an accurate metric will be a week from the game's official release; then check the Xbox charts. Daily fluctuations are not trustworthy metrics for longevity

Good stuff. I'm pretty sure the average person will have a good bunch of fun with this. The people who are popping aneurysms in their head are almost certainly hardcore Sony fanboys, tribalism, I get it, it's in our DNA.

Makes me think MS would be smart to invest in a few "budget" titles that are specifically for Gamepass, eg. what Netflix does. This could be huge for developers wanting to experiment and put out a semi-big game but too afraid to take big risks. I also get the sense that if games are not hyper realistic these days or have fancy graphics, some emotional story, or touch on important political themes, then somehow they are not AAA. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't call CD3 a great game overall, I'd give it a 6.5/10 or so given today's standards for immersion and gameplay innovation if evaluated alongside other $60 releases (the /10 ratings are really a question of value compared to the competition/tier, as far as I can tell), but it strikes me as the perfect game for Gamepass.

Nah, we're just not fanboys who think a AAA game selling for 2 bucks is some kind of amazing success story.

But why do you care so much?, i think that was his point. Why are some of you guys so invested in this?, its bloody Crackdown lol

Ok, Xbox fans. You convinced me. Crackdown 3 is actually a fantastic game. Game of the Year frontrunner. It has changed video games as we know them forever. I bow to the power of the cloud.

I can't believe Sony paid that much to have literally every respected gaming site give this gem of a game a horrible score. It's just so bad, but sometimes conspiracies are real.

One post is caring so much? Why do YOU people care so much? You guys act like Crackdown 3 is the savior of the gaming industry or something. It basically gets released for free and you act like it's some amazing success because lots of people are playing it. NEWS FLASH people love cheap shit.

First off, i'm a PC gamer. Secondly, its you guys acting like that. 587 Crackdown threads, Crackdown review thread had like 15 pages which is almost unheard off under the new Gaf. Even Microsoft themselves are probably laughing at you lot right now.
Its Crackdown, NOT Halo Infinte.

Then ask your buddy to stop making a new crackdown thread daily.

Crackdown 3 is also on PC. Never posted in that thread but I was lurking because I like trainwrecks. If Days Gone or TLOU 2 turns out to be garbage I'll be there too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nah, breh.

There's just so happens to be those of us who like to think for ourselves and not rely on a number or someone else to tell us what to like or not like -- what to buy and not buy. And could give a bowl of d**** what other people think about it.

No one said Crackdown is the savior of Xbox gaming - not even almost. But it is much more than people give it credit for and it's fun as hell. Most times that's what gamers are looking for. And are you really going to downplay the price of admission by playing the game through Gamepass? LOL! You wish Sony would do something like that for Playstation games.

The same way you feel about Crackdown 3 is pretty much how I feel about games like GoW, Uncharted, GT and others on Sony's system. They just arent my bag. The only difference is , I can live with the fact that you dont care for Crackdown -- doesnt matter to me one bit. Good on you. And I dont need to go and shit-post in a GoW thread to feel secure in the games I like and dont like.

But, I'm not an insecure like that.

Hunert Smok..e, I mean Voost Kain.....The game just came out and there's a pretty easy way to try it out without too much of a finacial committment.....I'd wager people would take a gander/whirl at $1.00, I mean what can it hurt...? Maybe next week or in two weeks you can see how it fares....Crackdown only came out 3 days ago and people may even want to try it out to see if it's so bad and see what all the hubbub is about......

Edit: was really hoping the cloud worked and dreamt of a bad company game with that type of promised destruction going would have been phenomenal
Tbh, I don't want any processing for my games on server farms that affects a game's processing or it's runtime.....I love Bad Company and I'm kinda happy there was not a new one this gen because the CPU's would not have been enough to handle a proper Bad Company.......I think we can depend on the advancement of CPU and GPU technology to push destruction. physics and A.I where we want it next gen.......So a new Bad Company would be best for next gen......There are even rumors of a new BC3 in the works with the same destruction that we know and love.......I just hope it's for next gen and not what they announce in June....
