The All New Spyborgs *Trailer inside*

Not a bad score, but not great. Seems in line with the other reviews so far. Every time I see this game I can't help but wish they had done an adventure game or platformer instead. Brawlers have very limited appeal for me, especially at full price.

Same, especially if they're described as repetitive with 'old' gameplay. I love brawlers if I'm in the right mood or the game does enough things properly, but I'm not going to spend my time playing a grind with no real original hook.

I'll maybe pick it up for the co-op when it lowers in price, but for now Spyborgs is going to take a back seat to other Wii titles that look more promising.

Even at $20 I'm going to pass. It just looks boring. Hope Capcom isn't too disappointed by the sales.

Well considering the fact that no one has come to purchase any of the first shipment at work I think they are and that price drop I think they are. :/

I think you know what word fits this.

Even though it's sad that the first game from a startup developer has met this fate, I just want to laugh at Capcom.

A Capcom employee at the press conference where it was first unveiled said:
When the showed the trailer off the press for the first time there was this very uneasy feeling in the room, and nobody really knew what to think of it.

And the game never did anything to disprove that first impression. For reference, here's the unveiling thread, from a year and a half ago. Everyone that said it made no sense for Capcom to be producing this game was proven correct, but ultimately the joke is on Wii owners since this failure won't lead to anything that Wii owners wanted in the place of Spyborgs.

Wow friend, your an account with a good selection of Wii gameplay! Consider yourself bookmarked ;)
Thanks. I used to have a ton more vids on my old YT account ShotMyEyeOut but I closed it. I need to start putting some vids back up.

I've actually been playing the shit out of this game for the last week and a half. It's very polished and one of the better looking Wii games around. It definitely taps into that old-school brawler feel and it has a nice setup along with a heck of a lot of unlockables. Shame the game is absolutely tanking :(

I paid full price <3

I liked it allright myself, though I suppose I'm no connoisseur of brawlers. I had some trouble with the motion finishers though... in particular when required to finish off a boss :/

Its too bad they couldn't have fleshed out the game-play because the controls work really well and the graphics can hang with the best on the Wii. If they had just added some puzzles to the mix, maybe a weapons upgrade system and a bit more depth to the character upgrade this game could have been so much more than just a standard beat em up.

I paid full price too <3

Really? I've 95% success with all the motions I've done. They weren't the best design choices on the bosses (which is sad because the bosses are large and awesome).

Regardless, I've put almost 14 hours into the game according to the clock and I'm somewhat addicted to the time/combo challenges at this point. I'm genuinely interested in the BTS videos this game has considering all the crazy development changes. It's very interesting to hear the people involved talk about the changes.

Yeah, it's missing something. Going through the extra videos is baffling considering none of the original puzzle levels are left nor are any of the mini-games. Also, the story seemed to be a much larger part of the game and a whole character has been wiped clean from the finished product...

Still, as it is, I've really enjoyed the game. It's quick and smooth, and the move set is surprisingly robust if you experiment with timing etc. Also, on the graphics front, some of the effects and the general fluidity are 'wow' worthy, particularly those fire levels directly before the first boss.

sorry for the necro bump

picked this up for 15 bucks at best buy for my kids ~8 months or so ago- they played it once, but then played other games (we have 110+ wii games) and never came back to it.

they just restarted playing it friday, they love it and have played it for ~10hrs over the course of the weekend (my daughter loves clandestine,6yr old loves bouncer and my 9yr old loves the one iwth the gun forget his name)

it's surprisingly good. good effects, graphics, the gameplay works well, well worth the price- too bad it bombed at retail@ release
