Who is going to make the official thread? I want to start either a keynote bingo card or a bet on the announcements.

Go for it, but wait until this event is actually confirmed.Technosteve said:Who is going to make the official thread? I want to start either a keynote bingo card or a bet on the announcements.

Higher quality, lighter, reduced glare screen, but same res.
2 cameras
512mb ram
A5 processor
Expanded capacity to 32/64/128gb
I think you're pretty spot on with that list. I'll hope for a gig of RAM though instead.Carlisle said:Sweet, time to get colberticalledit.gif ready
I hope

Nah, they won't. We'll have to wait for some tech site to take it apart before we find out.Burger said:Anyone here really think Apple will discuss the RAM or even mention how much it has? They've never done that for the iPhone/iPad before...
My guess is that they will just say 'it's insanely fast' and leave it at that.

No way would they discuss it. If there's an A5 processor they'll mention that, they'll mention better battery life if there's that, same with storage, but RAM/clockspeed won't get figured out until the teardowns.Burger said:Anyone here really think Apple will discuss the RAM or even mention how much it has? The only real FEATURE addition, as we know it, is FaceTime (and, maybe, the 'mystery port'). That and a sure-to-be-lovely new industrial design from Jony Ive. So unless they're also doing the iOS 5 reveal as I expect, there won't be THAT much to talk about.
Wouldn't be too surprised to see some nice new apps/app updates getting unveiled either; it'd be nice to see the Facebook app finally updated for the iPad.

I dont see it till the iPad 3 with mah retinaz which might or might not happen in the Fall.Jax said:surely minimum 1gb ram. I mean, almost everyone of those android tablets = 1gb ram.

On top of that, if iPad 3 in fall is true, then it's likely they want to reposition the iPad cycle to then. In which case, they either wait until then entirely, or they release a minor revision as a stop gap. The latter option is better, as it stops them from getting Outdated as the real ipad competitors start launching.giga said:Dat supply chain.

I am very excite for this. I would also like to see them move away from the 16GB one and make the cheapest one 32GB. Would be killer machine and actually a death sentence to pretty much every Android tablet. Man those things have some shitty pricing.
Same. I would kill for a gig... and I almost put it on as my prediction considering all the other tablets will have it. But an efficient 512mb on iOS is probably pretty comparable to 1gb on Android.CRD90 said:I think you're pretty spot on with that list. I'll hope for a gig of RAM though instead.
My hopes will get pissed on =(
iPhone 4 was in stores 17 days after WWDC10. Going by that, iPad 2 should be out around Saturday, March 19. We could be under a month away.Charred Greyface said:So will the iPad 2 be available for purchase in April, a month after the unveiling (like the iPhone), or will it be available for order immediately after the announcement and be in stores within a week (like the iPod Touch)? C'mon folks, where are all the predictions?!

My anticipation for iPad part deux is only half as much as iOS 5. Better notifications and lock screen info are all I ask.Charred Greyface said:So will the iPad 2 be available for purchase in April, a month after the unveiling (like the iPhone), or will it be available for order immediately after the announcement and be in stores within a week (like the iPod Touch)? :lol I won't venture near any store selling iPads until a few weeks after the gadget lust has waned a bit. Booo! Those are top priorities for sure, but there's much more that can be done to improve iOS.giga said:My anticipation for iPad part deux is only half as much as iOS 5. Better notifications and lock screen info are all I ask.
Apple Store doesn't charge restocking fees now, I think.Charred Greyface said::lol I won't venture near any store selling iPads until a few weeks after the gadget lust has waned a bit. If by some miracle the iPad 2 does have a retina display I won't be able to resist though.
I still have a hard time to believe this. When did it ever happen that Apple introduced the successor of a product in the same year?giga said:I dont see it till the iPad 3 with mah retinaz which might or might not happen in the Fall.
Historically, theyve done multiple notebook refreshes in a single year. Of course those were mainly spec bumps.brotkasten said:I still have a hard time to believe this. When did it ever happen that Apple introduced the successor of a product in the same year?
