twilight princess is a bit of an anomaly as it rode the wii boom, but the sales trend in the series since the iconic ocarina is a) why zelda wiiu/nx is being kept back and b) why it's chasing the bethesda market. it needs to be very carefully positioned as the vast cost of the production of this style of game compared to the static or even slightly dwindling market appeal is in danger of making it irrelevant.

You could also look at it as the OoT/TP style being vastly preferred to all the other experiments Nintendo has attempted with the franchise afterwards. OoT 3d almost hit four millions and that was a remake that basically just had a graphical updates and some minor gameplay enhancements, with no actual extra content.

Umm.... aside from a whole extra game :) (Master Quest, mirrored).

I'm actually surprised how low Ocarina is. I wonder what it would be if you factored in Virtual console on both Wii and Wii U, not to mention the Gamecube version
