The Bionic Commando Rearmed Official Thread of SUPPPAHHHH JOE!

Mamesj said:
in my day, we had to walk through two feet of snow uphill both ways just to drop down a level in Bionic commando.
im just curious, im not trying to criticize the game or anything, I think its fucking awesome actually, especially the music. This shit is blistering hard though, which is also good, can't wait to master it and feel like a validated man-boy. Its crazy this game is only 10 dollars.

Buy the PS3 version if you don't want tearing as it seems to be completely missing from it.
Yeah, because who doesn't have a Ps3 in his home?
Everybody got one ... right?
Wrong.

people are fucking neurotic around here. It doesn't help that people are picking apart every pixel of the damned thing to find fault with their competing console of choice. I hope Sonysoft pays you well for your hard work. :lol :lol 360 BCR has tearing/PS3 SC4 has slowdown lol lol lol lol. Both being probably so miniscule that the only people that notice are the ones sitting 2 in from their screens that discovered it.

you assholes aren't gamers. It's insulting that with a classic re-release like this filled with nostalgia of a simpler time, anyone should be so focused on technical issues.

TRY TO REMEMBER HOW TO HAVE FUN WITH GAMES ASSHOLES.
Wait, you said "it's insulting" after a whole post of direct insults to people?
What a joke.
Also, i play the game just like every other game, screen tearing is noticeable even from 40 feet in some Areas. it's worse than the screen tearing in God of War 2.
Stop acting like a paladin, defending the games from us bad guys who, in your opinion, like to find flaws.

Game's good, screen-tearing sucks, that's all i'm saying.

That's why my initial question to you was...

Do you only have a 360? It seems like it would be wise to wait for the PS3 or PC versions if you can. The PS3 version doesn't seem to suffer from tearing while we KNOW the PC version won't (though its performance will depend upon your hardware).

I was determining whether or not you had another platform. That's all.

tha_con said:
So is that Capcoms surprise? The PS3 version has no tearing?
You guys are talking about the Ps3 -- DEMO -- right?
Because the 360 DEMO LEVEL didn't have screen tearing aswell.
The point here is that Area 0 and other levels got a lot of screen tearing... and you cannot check Area 0 and the other levels on Ps3.

I know, I'm just being a smart ass :D

:lol

okay, enough gaf, time to go play BC:R...or should I play Bangai-O. Damn, that's a tough one.

That question was not referred to me and you posted that after saying "buy the Ps3 one", actually.

Run to the end of a platform. :lol I tried to drop many times, but couldnt.

Anyway those looking to get better scores on Area's, wait till you get more equipment and upgrades, then go back.

And yes this game is FUCKING AWESOME. The soundtrack is amazing...I mean I wish Megaman remakes did this. Take the 8-bit music and add more to it instead of just totally redoing it. Area 05 and 02 in particular.

Also I can see a few memes emerging from BCRA.

The worst I ever saw a case of screen tearing was in both Serious Sam on the XBox and Heavenly Sword. I got over them quickly though. Either some of you live to rip on games or your just being PR puppets by trumpeting the other versions to feel better about yourselves.

People from Japan can (they could buy full version late last night even) - I just don't know if anyone did.

Also my gamertag is TeknomanEX if anyone wants to add me for leaderboard purposes, or future stuff.

As far as screen tearing on 360, only Area 00, and only for a little bit.

I've played quite a bit on the PS3 version today, And i haven't noticed tearing in any of the levels i've played. Area 0 was fine also.

I wish i was finding this game more exciting. I haven't played the original though, So the whole nostalgia thing isn't really happening. Maybe once i'm comfortable with the controls.

Also, the default controlls are nasty. (360) "A" to shoot and "B" to grapple/jump? Ewww.

I changed my settings to the third option (C) which is "X" to shoot and "A" to grapple/jump.

It was like that on the original NES game as well.

Anyone find the secrets in Area 01?
Yes. I struggled for about an hour to find them both.

First one is to the far right of the first area (before you go underground). You have to jump towards the water (from the topright most platform) and then barely hit some lamp posts (there's 3 of them in a row).

Second secret is a lot more straightforward. Underground there's a rocket launcher guy near a barrel (to the southwest in the level), if you use a rocket or grenade near him you'll reveal a secret passage.

Agreed.
But you have to consider a lot of people here, like me, is just complaining about the 360 version, without saying "buy the Ps3 one" or something like that.
Too bad the thread suddenly became a "TRY TO REMEMBER HOW TO HAVE FUN WITH GAMES ASSHOLES :lol :lol :lol" spamfest.

Let's talk about the game now -- screen-tearing or not. [good to hear from Almyn that the Ps3 one doesn't have that, anyway]

Well, this game is hard, i'm seriously thinking about finishing it once on "Easy" before attempting it on "Normal".
I'm playing it for the first time on Normal but it's not the type of game where i am good...

He was referring to Permutated's quote.
that's pretty stupid, the main reason why i liked th eold games because of the lack of jump and swinging mechanism. I can understand being angry about screen tearing though.

a bit offtopic but i just finish watching the anime (about 2mins ago) in you Avatar and i would like to say thanks, have I not seen you avatar i would never have watch this series though the ending wasn't very conclusive.

You are semi-right.

You will walk into this game as a boy and come out as a man with hair on your ass.

C'mon Konami! Get Wayforward to make a "Contra Rearmed" then the world will be complete.

By the way, i noticed you can have two different saves [1 player and CoOp], but what if i start a new 1p game?
Will that delete my old 1p save? [once the game saves, obviously]

I think so, but I'm curious to know if your data log stays throughout multiple playthroughs.

can some one explain step by step how to do challenge room ten?

Whatever technique I need to do to pass this level I'm missing it.

Does screen tearing only happen on HDTV? I am playing my 360 and PS3 games on a SDTV and I don't remember any screen tearing on any games. I also don't remember any screen tearing on God of War 2.

God of War 2 had screen tearing? I didn't even realize.

I guess I don't have to worry too much about performance stuff, then.

If you didn't notice screen tearing in God of War 2, you won't notice screen tearing anywhere.

Well GoW2 is the best looking past gen game and it runs at 60fps so...

was the screen tearing in God of War 2 only on HDTV? Or was it HDTV and SDTV? what does screen tearing look like?

Screen tearing can happen on any display. It looks like this:

So I downloaded the trial and I'm seriously impressed with the polish and content (database, challenge rooms, actual game, etc). Graphics are great, especially for an XBLA game. Reminds me of LBP.

The thing is, at least on 360 the controls suck ass. I always try to shoot my arms diagonally (when I need to, obviously) but it typically ends up going up. Using the d-pad lets me direct the arm where I want it to go, but it's such a mushy piece of shit that I'm not willing to use it all the time.

:(

If your only option is the 360 version try not pressing any direction at all, that you you automtically shot diagonally.
