Actually, I was just thinking the opposite. There are some beautiful shots in this thread. I'm finding myself more impressed overall than in the PC screenshot thread.

This is coming from a guy who just built a new i7 930 + ATI 5870 rig. Console games look awesome.

OK, there are too many Halo 3 shots here (though a couple of them are nice), but some of these games are simply beautiful. Find me a single racing game on the PC with visuals that trump PGR4, for instance.
 
One thing that RARE is great at is color! Banjo, Kameo, and V.Pinata are beautiful games. For a generation that loves it's browns and grays, RARE stands out.

the XMB option ones are also basically framebuffer captures in the current resolution, can't get more real than this (also works in the respective demos).

btw. the MLB The Show posters in this thread seem to play with overscan on their TV ;)

I'll crank out some PS3 pics tomorrow, the xbox ones were easy as i played with the features alot, on ps3 just played the games.

Halo looks great in photomode but ingame it looks like complete ass. It probably has the worst image quality of any major game released this generation, such a shame but thankfully Reach is looking much better.

Yeah, IQ is something they said has been a focus for Reach. It's really the only thing keeping Halo 3 from being a really great looking game: art, color, lighting and scale are all there.

GT5's photo thread is going to be incredible. For many reasons. One of which being that you can output photos up to an incredible resolution.

Going to be a source of desktop wallpapers for me for the next 5 years.

I think it's Kameo. I don't think it looks that good either, but everyone has their own taste.

Uncharted 2 :D Love the detail in all aspects of the fatty drake shot, just look at even the small things, it's amazing that even the masks which most people will never notice are as detailed as they are.

Also, Killzone still has the most realistic visuals of any console game imo, a bit too grey/brown for some, but still gorgeous, anyone got shots of the desert level with those big turbines. SO GOOD!

Really? I don't meant to hate on ME2, I really like the game, but the design of that game is just blah for me. Grunt's planet that you mention is just...crap-looking. A big ol' brown with more brown on top. FFXIII has way more interesting art design...and i think it actually looks more alien and otherwordly than ME2. :P And I haven't even played FFXIII, just going by what I've seen in trailers and shit.
 
Dibbz those are some amazing MS PR screenshots, fuck. I stared at the first for 3 minutes, than I scrolled down and was just impressed with your second one. Mine look like shit in comparison.
