Generally, an odalisque was never seen by the sultan, but instead remained under the direct supervision of the Valide sultan. according to the adelaide metro website i have 2 possible busses to catch into town a day, one at 7am and one at 1:50pm. so i go to catch the 1:50 one, its chaotic here in the hills and unreliable so i get there around 1:30... waiting... waiting... gets to 2:20 and i gather somethings wrong.
so i walk home, only to realize i never botehred to bring a key with me coz i figured.. i wouldnt need it. so i must break into my house. and then i call transit plus, the people who do the hills busses.. and they tell me the 820 doesnt come at 1:50 only the morning one which is the 821.. so i tell them about the adelaide metro website and there all like oh. we'll get it sorted
i totally dont trust them. so i ring adelaide metro and am on hold for ages. then get thru and crap on about it to them and theyre like oh ok.
and because of this i've missed uni and will have to stay home and play halo 3. woe is me.

Ein Pferd als Grabstein
Das Verwaltungsgericht Neustadt hat mit Urteil vom 17. März 2003 entschieden, dass eine Ortsgemeinde in der Westpfalz es zu Unrecht abgelehnt hat, ein auf einem Sockel stehendes Fohlen aus Naturstein als Grabmal zu genehmigen.
Die Witwe hatte dieses Grabmal in Form einer 80 cm hohen Tierplastik gewünscht, weil ihr verstorbener Ehemann zu Lebzeiten im Verwandten- und Freundeskreis "das Pferd" genannt wurde und diesen Beinamen geschätzt habe.
Die Gemeinde als Friedhofsträgerin hatte diesen Wunsch abgelehnt, weil sie darin einen Verstoß gegen die würdige Gestaltung ihres Friedhofs sah. Sie klagte deshalb beim Verwaltungsgericht Neustadt gegen den Landkreis, der anderer Auffassung war und sie zur Genehmigung des Grabmales verpflichtet hatte. Die Ortsgemeinde berief sich mit ihrer Klage vor allem darauf, dass der Verstorbene mit seinem negativ - im Sinne von schwerfällig und unbeholfen - besetzten Beinamen mit einer Pferdeskulptur auf seinem Grab verunglimpft werde.
Dies sah das Verwaltungsgericht anders und wies die Klage ab. Nach seiner Auffassung liegen keine Anhaltspunkte dafür vor, dass der Verstorbene tatsächlich unter dem Beinamen "das Pferd" gelitten hat und das Grabmal eine Verunglimpfung seiner Person darstellt. Das subjektive Empfinden des Ortsbürgermeisters und einiger Ratsmitglieder sei hierfür nicht maßgeblich. Entgegen der Auffassung der Gemeinde sei der Name "das Pferd" nicht von vornherein nur negativ besetzt. Dass Friedhofsbesucher durch die Tierplastik eines Pferdes auf besondere Weise an den Verstorbenen erinnert würden, entspreche gerade dem wesentlichen Zweck des Friedhofs und der Grabstätte.

Sure, I find the odor of death very erotic. There are death odors and there are death odors. Now you get your body that's been floating in the bay for two weeks, or a burn victim, that doesn't attract me much, but a freshly embalmed corpse is something else.
There is also this attraction to blood. When you're on top of a body it tends to purge blood out of its mouth, while you're making passionate love .. You'd have to be there, I guess.
