Leo DiCaprio is the next casting. At the end of DKR we're going to find out that the entire trilogy was just incepted into Bruce Wayne's mind by some rival corporation to get him to destroy Wayne Enterprises.

Will be interested to see who JGL is cast as if true. I still think everybody puts way too much stock in him.

Don't waste any brain cells on hoping for any of these guys. Nolan demands creative control on films (Bond directors get anything but), and Tarantino and Zwick are American. All three are DOA.
I don't think any of them will by any means. If the license left MGM I would have given it a tad more thought.

P.S. If I remember correctly, In Knightfall, Bane sets a prison escape and Joker escapes the prison.

Yes, I'm hyping!!!

yeah, he teams up with scarecrow for a bit.

there is an awesome scene where Scarecrow uses his fear toxin on the Joker with no effect because he is fearless.

would want that scene just to see Joker from Scarecrows drugged out perspective...and Cillian Murphy with another burlap sack on his head.

wait, screw Michael Keaton. Al Pacino for The Gray Ghost.

An older vigilante, Batman, and the younger JGL Robin. Three generations of heroes. It will be poetic. And bring in Guy Pierce as Clock King.

I could see Joseph playing the new DA, though they go through those people in Gotham.

I can also see him being a mob leader to fill the void left by Falcone and Maroni.

Yeah Mob leader would be cool. Like a young one coming up maybe catwomens girlfriend. Before Bruce tries to mack it.

So much excite!
I'm not even concerned with JGL's role in the film because: 1) he's an ace actor, and 2) Nolan hasn't made a mistake in casting major
male
roles yet.

WAYNE MANOR or bust. I want to see how they rebuilt the south-east corner.

I want to see how he keeps the suit now. In Batman Begins, it was just in an old wooden closet. The Dark Knight was more industrial, but that was his Bat...garage thing.

Bleh on JGL. Outside of his boss-suits he was bland as hell in Inception. Though I don't know if I could blame him specifically for that. Everybody but Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy were mad-bland in there (even Watanabe was off).

Is that deadline thing just rumor right now? I'm hoping for:

Guy Pearce, Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender, Robin Williams and for young actors probably..uuh...yeah nobody I could name right now only old dudes.

Yep. My bet is on a new DA or ADA who is trying to bring down Batman.

I wouldn't be that surprised if JGL plays the Joker in a very minor appearance. I know Nolan has denied he will appear but that would just make the surprise even better.

Although if we want returning characters, Rutger Hauer as Mr Earle would be top of my list.

Same here. Just a tiny little cameo.

If they're going to recast Joker they should go with Michael Shannon hell he was practically playing him in Revolutionary Road.

I don't think Nolan will recast the Joker--the man keeps mystery surrounding his movies by hardly saying anything at all, but very rarely does he say one thing & then do another in the film. I just wanted to quote this because was under the impression that I was the only person who thought the exact same thing when I watched Shannon in Revolutionary Road. It was uncanny.

The only good thing about Robin would be watching the Joker beat him to death.

Batman: Under the Red Hood - One of the best animated movies ever.

I like how mature this movie is. VA's are really good and John DiMaggio is such a great Joker. He is a more creepier and insane Joker than Mark Hamill was, a mix of Hamill and Ledger. If you haven't watched this movie yet, watch it!

Really disappointing that they're not shooting in Chicago. It's going to be weird, in fact, I don't think it'll visually mesh with the other two movies if it's filmed in New York or Los Angeles.

I heard they're shooting in Romania also and another undisclosed Asian country?

To be fair, TDK didn't visually mesh with BB.

Definitely, but I think that was more because the vast majority of BBs Gotham scenes were set at night, whereas TDK had a lot more daytime stuff. Also they moved from the Narrows to more of the skyscraper districts.

It made sense thematically too, with the 'night is darkest stuff', a bit like how the change from the fast, muddled and punchy combat shots of BB changed to almost clumsy scenes of Batman in full view of everybody, just like how the public perception of Batman is changing from a monster that nobody understands to just a crazy man in a costume.

I wouldn't worry about the sets/locations matching up, so many films are filmed in NY/LA and made to look like somewhere else, plus from what I understand they film most of it on a soundstage anyway.

Don't know if it was mentioned here, but I found this poster quite striking:

Absolutely not what I want from a Nolan-Batman-poster, but artistically stunning nonetheless.

yep, awesome movie. the ending was sad, though.

I love how everyone assume EVERYONE cast in this movie will be a supervillan or superhero.

JGL could just end up being a freakin' TV reporter or someone working in the mayor's office.

I would not over-react and assume Joker has been re-cast or that he is playing a significant role. I would figure that if that was the case, and he was to have a big role, it would have been a big deal that would have been announced like Hardy and Hathaway.

I remember when Anthony Michael Hall was cast people thought he was going to be The Riddler. Then the story became he was a TV reporter who was obsessed with Bruce Wayne, and he wanted to be just like him :lol

I will never understand the hate for Robin. He's always been a great character, especially now with Damian.

I wonder if Levitt is going to play a Scarecrow/Two Face style Riddler: as in he's just Edward throughout the movie and only becomes Riddler at the very end, as a surprise such as how many people didn't realize we were going to get full on fighting with Two Face in Dark Knight (a lot of assumption was that he gets burned, but will be the main villain in Batman 3, not just...die). I'm okay with that.

I'm okay with him being the Riddler in any capacity, period. Like as in a twist ending where all the weirdness that has been devastating the city ends up being a series of hints dropped by a villain who turns out to be Levitt's character, maybe as someone who's been pulling even Hugo Strange's strings.

I doubt it though: much like the first two he will likely be a white collar or gangster criminal.

I don't know, I guess if this is going to be a trilogy, I think the only way you can up DK is with both Catwoman and the Riddler, that's all. Bane and Catwoman are not strong enough villains.

I also just realized that there are a shit ton of villains in these Nolan movies. LOL

I could see Levitt playing 'Robin'. Without the tights or being Batman's partner though. Just a copy cat who is obsessed with him and follows him. Plus, somebody has to get their back broken by Bane.

Oh god the conspiracy theories behind who he'd play :lol

Some people were positive it was the Riddler because after he was cast, some news outlet asked if he could hint at who he might be playing, and he said "It's a mystery". From that and nothing else, people extrapolated "Mystery? As in Mr. E? As in Edward Nigma? As in THE RIDDLER?? ZOMG He's gonna be the Riddler!"

Yeah, nice guess guys; using that ol' Batman Forever logic. People need to take a step back and not get lost in their own wild theories, you're only setting yourselves up for disappointment. As far as I'm concerned, if JGL is in TDKR, it could just be some brief cameo in Arkham.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but Marion Cotillard always seemed like she'd be a great Catwoman. Someone post pictures, prove me right.

Nolan has already explicitly said no Robin, no Riddler, and no recasting Joker. So why do people keeping linking JGL to either of these three? :lol

The best guesses I've heard so far are Alberto Falcone (or a similar mobster) or some cop/politician rival for Gordon.

Same thing happened with TDK when Anthony Michael Hall was named, people were swearing that he would be the Riddler or this person or that person.
JGL in my opinion though will either play Arkham
Black Mask
or Bruce's buddy Tommy
