R. Kelly drove it around a city of justice, a city of love, a city of peace for everyone of us.

Wow, just when I thought the film couldn't get an better my favorite Irish-Black actor joins the cast. Dude is awesome in Rescue Me and I dig the musicals/plays that he starred in as well. I can't wait to find out which character he's going to play.

Variety confirms "Sunjata will play a courageous special forces operative."

They also add two more names to the list, saying Diego Klattenhoff (Homeland, Firebired) has "been offered the part of a rookie cop who is looking to make a difference." Burn Gorman (Layer Cake, Torchwood, Red Lights) is also "being eyed for a supporting role in the superhero pic."

"A rookie cop looking to make a difference" that will get shot and die in the line of duty, further proving Bruce that the people of Gotham do have a heart and it's the crazies he must protect them from. Surprise me Nolan and drop the goddamn cheese.

Seriously. I was really fucking hoping we would go back to a much more Bruce-centric narrative arc. Not that it still can't be, but it doesn't seem like we'll get something that intimate again.

You guys do realize that these guys are playing characters who will probably have like 2 mins of total screen time, right?

If this was Thor or Green Lantern, these casting updates wouldn't even be news.

Which I guess shows how starved people are for Dark Knight news

I still believe we'll receive a tighter focus on Bruce similar to the first movie. I don't see the trilogy closing very well without the narrative arc being more intimate. I've had no reason to doubt Nolan so I'm still positive.

I don't know. Burn Gorman's role sounds really important.

Bingo.

So far we have Bane, Catwoman, and Cottilard's character. TDK had Joker, Two-Face, and Rachel. Begins had Ra's, Scarecrow, and Rachel.

Actually, so far we have Bane, Catwoman, JGL's character, Cottilard's character and
that whole flashback stuff with Rhas Al Ghul
on top of the usual suspects. And the point is that if its like TDK, then it won't be a Bruce-centric narrative.

How did they ever make time for Bruce Wayne?!

There won't be any Burce centric narrative. It's over. Nolan already established his character and he now needs dudes like Joker to challenge him.

Am secretly hoping it is closer to TDK than Batman Begins

I am outwardly hoping that the exact opposite is true. And based on all the casting and plot details so far, I believe my camp is winning.
