yeah, but nothing happens there.

Right. I don't know where you are, so I'll tread lightly.

How about the orphanage? Have you gone through that whole thing already?

I'm liking this game a whole lot.
I can see why people are criticizing its faults, which are certainly there, but to me the atmosphere, story, and attention to details more then make up for it.
great experience so far.

Nice try, but no tamales.

Yeah... so... that ****er is pissing me off. Anyone win the shell game in the subway?

Hahaha... that son of a ... Try helping the Wills (or Willis) guy nearby for a hint.

I just tried it for the first time a moment ago. The intro was cool! This is a pretty sweet game, even though I didn't get too much time to play past the intro, I was already lovin' it. Heck, even my mother wanted to see what was going to happen next!

I am enjoying the game so far, but its getting really annoying having to blast lights all the time.

I also wish Jackie would bloody run, god amn he is slow.

You get an ability that allows you to break lights easily very early in the game.

Really? Did I miss it the first time it was available because I only got it
in the orphanage... no wait, just at the start of hell

I just hate the fact I have to aim at them all the time, and waiting for the Darklings takes way to long.

Its just a minor annoyance, I still love the game the presentation is fantastic, and I love the little monologues when its loading.

cutting out the lights so that you can unleash the darkness is a cool concept. i just think they were kinda dumb about it.

how it should be: you come up to a room. you peak through the doorway/window/whatever, you shoot out the room's light. the room goes dark, the enemies are immediately scared and can't see well so they start to panic. you run in and start taking them out, sometimes utilizing the cool close quarters excecution moves, as they are confused, panicked and blinded by the darkness.

how it is: you come up to a room. you peak through the doorway/window/whatever. you observe that the one room has 6 cieling lights, 3 lamps, and 4 wall lights. you think "well ****, if i don't take out all those lights i'm going to melt like the wicked witch of the west because i'm such a bitch emo goth." you take out the first light, a couple guys are alerted and run over to where you are and you take them out. you walk in a little bit and take out another couple lights, and again, a couple guards meet you and you kill them. by the time you have all the lights out and the room is dark, all the guys are already dead. as you progress to the next area, you think "well that was a waste of time... why doesn't this game have grenades?"

i just got through the first trip through hell. am i going to get it soon?

I'm stuck on the damn second hit for Mortarello. I've heard he's with the cops, but I killed all the cops and I still haven't found him.

it really is...

The dynamic metal parts I had to get used to, but they fit everything else well....the overall theme playing during the subway parts is both hauntingly sad/beautiful...
...more so when you loose jenny =(

That scene was so good, really well done

Just finished the game. I really enjoyed the experience a whole lot in the end. I can't wait to play it again, really.

I must admit, however, that it felt EXTREMELY short. Not a big deal, though, as I had so much fun. They really succeed at making you feel powerful. Shooting out lights early on was a bit tedious, but it makes sense in that you truly appreciate your abilities later.

Think I'm going to rent this tonight and hopefully finish it over the weekend - haven't read much into the game, but from the comments, most of you seem to enjoy it a bit.

Ok, I hate to do this but im stuck.

After you die in the church and have to find the shell in the other world, I have no idea where to go. Ive tried following the tracks over the water but that damn plane kills me everytime. Where am I supposed to go?

edit: nm, I found where to go

The exact opposite way for now.

Don't go to the fortress yet. Head back behind the behind the giant tank find some germen soldiers. There is a pathway there.

For the "safe" zones, it's great. For the metal looping action spots, it does its job, but overall I love it all and and I love this game.

So mmm. I have a game breaking bug and it freaking sucks.

I'm on the 5th chapter and every time I try to go to the Lower East Side, the game locks up and freezes. I've tried restarting the chapter, loading my last checkpoint, and everything else I can think of. I exchanged my disc and the problem still exisits. My save file must be defective or something.

Anyone else have this problem? Possible solutions?

The music in the subway reminds me of Oblivion. There's some kind of harp-like instrument giving me these vibes.

It fits the atmosphere, which is really really wierd based on the music and the game.

Anyone know where I can find some Darkness music?

Problem with Gun Hill...

I'm there to kill Schrute, followed him through the building no problem but the chopper kills me dead every time. I can't hide from the rockets, I can't dodge them (last one always kills me) and emptying my gun at the chopper doesn't seem to damage it. Is there a trigger I'm missing? Should I stop trying to find a safe spot and just fight the chopper?

Jump off the roof.

My Darkness Review

by Urk

I like the Darkness. It is fun. Mike Patton is creepy. I bet he's cool in real life though. I ate Vin Diesel's face and he deserved it because he was in the Pacifier. People on GAF don't get motion blur. I do. It makes stuff blurry. Darklings and eating hearts is fun in a bizarre, morbid sort of way. Starbreeze and Union are pretty cool fothermuckers. 2K is alright, I guess. Does this game have multiplayer?

5 urine soaked corpses out of 5.

Might be your 360. My 360 still freezes occasionally in random spots during The Darkness (launch console)- it seems to happen a lot more with newer games with lots of sparks.

Its always at the same exact spot though. I hadn't had one problem before this. I was just over at the 2k boards, and another person seems to have the same exact problem as me. So I suppose I may not be the only one.

The same thing happened with me and GRAW2, I couldn't get past 15 mins in single player. A lot of people had the same problem, but they never fixed it I guess.
