This is a bit....worrying for me. A bunch of friends of mine are getting the game and ideally we would like to play together as much as possible.
Are you able to play the main quest / guild quests with friends at all?
How long does it take to do the main quest and the guilds? Do you get good loot from it? Do unique items exist? Thanks.
I played this on PC for a while and I thought you could invite friends into main / Guild quests? Am I mis remembering? I know randoms won't show up but I could swear I grouped with friends to take down a boss I was stuck on
A very long time. And yes, through out the main story quest, you get rewarded some good loot/gold etc. But there is so much more than the main quest, I have done some side quests that rival some of the best parts of the main quest.

No, they are 100% solo. This is not the MMO to get if you want to play through it with your friends.
Is the only way to play as an imperial still going to be the Imperial edition or whatever? Kinda want to dip my toes in on PS4 with the regular edition but would like the option to play as an imperial at some point. Can you upgrade later in the ingame store or just buy that race separately? Thanks.
Yes you can. You can buy the upgrade in the Crown Store, which then opens it up to the Imperial Edition. Next time I log on to the PC version I will let you know what the price is, but it is definitely something you can do.
Yes you can. Me and my Wife have been playing together for some time through the content. While you can Solo it, there are some areas/bosses that are tough as nails and depending on class, you will have a hard time. I have an alternate that I play mainly Solo, but I do ask for help when needed.
It is a fun game to group with people, especially the dungeons etc. Like I said, you can do a lot of the game with a group or solo. What I have been finding is that eventually your friends are going to want to play when you or other friends are not available and then you will have them doing content that you have not, which in itself is not bad, they would just be along for the ride if they join you on the same content.
But then there is the crafting professions to work on, gathering materials, there are hidden treasure maps that you find etc. that a lot to the game. There are Lore Books to find, Sky Shards etc. There is a lot to do in the game. Sometimes I log on and all I do is go on gathering runs for materials (Wood, Metal etc.) and doing research to build more and better items.
Any non-instanced stuff can be done cooperatively, along with the dungeons and PvP. While I like the game in many ways, the logic behind how grouping works is pretty poor, IMO.

Economy's a little weird, each guild bids weekly on different vendors around the world. When they win a bid, that vendor will sell the equivalent of an auction house but just with items put for sale by that guild.
No controller support for PC is still a dealbreaker for me. :/
Really? I won't suggest my roommate pick it up then since he can't play PC games with a keyboard and mouse.

What sort of non-quest/combat activities does the game offer? Im thinking stuff like fishing etc which are kind of semi irrelevant but are fun nonetheless, also can you level up any of these activities?
How does TES:O implement F2P?

You buy the game itself, there's an optional monthly sub ontop that rewards a static % XP boost and premium currency each month which can be spent in an item shop that sells cosmetic items only.
In fairness, most of the game content (90%) can be played grouped. There's a strong main story and guild quest lines (example; you go to The Shivering Isles with the Mages Guild) which is single player only. The rest can be grouped if you want.
Well they do sell a bit more than just cosmetic, but nothing pay 2 win. They are adding experience potions soon, but basically they look at the store as cosmetic and ease of life things like potions (not as good as crafted potions), exp potions, etc.
True.

quick question, the account copy offer I got an email about a month ago... does that include the game? I'm guessing it does since it is called "The Elder Scrolls® Online: Tamriel Unlimited™ for Console with account copy", but one can never be too sure
Yeah, you pay $20, and it copies your characters over and gives you a copy of the game on that system.
I'm not sure how the actual acquiring of the game works, but I assume they'll just send you a code to redeem in the appropriate console store once ESO is available to preload or whatever.
Some quick questions:
- Can you buy/own a home?
- Can you collect ingredients / crafting materials (i.e. pick flowers and harvest monster corpses)?
- Is there a day/night cycle?
- Can you horde (is there a safe place to keep your items if there's encumbrance)?
- Does going to Cyrodile mean you have to engage in PvP?
- Will monsters follow you out of a dungeon like in Oblivion or are they instanced like in Skyrim?
- Does the game make it hard to get around so you'll have to BUY items to do it?
- Is there loading/instancing or can I walk from one end of the world to the other?
- Does the game still have the hallmarks of cheesing enemies like proper elder scroll games like climbing a rock and delivering death to a mammoth by 1000 arrows?

How is the world building, exploration, cities/towns/hubs etc in this game?
Here's a little more specific info about the fast travel system. There are wayshrines scattered all over the world. You can fast travel to any of them from anywhere in the world, and this costs gold. If you walk up to a wayshrine and activate it, it brings up a map and lets you fast travel for free.
