The Elder Scrolls Online - Freedom and Choice trailer

For PC or PS4? The PS4 version isn't cross-play with the PC version as well. Has Sony ever allowed a game on their platform to be cross play with a competing console's version?

FFXIV is PS4/PC cross-play. Sony usually has no issues with that sort of thing.

But the way I've heard it, a PS4 <> PC cross-play [for ESO] was not agreeable for MS either as it would be seen as superior to the Xbox version in that case. And creating two versions of the game, one that is cross-compatible to the PC and one that isn't cost too much for a game that arguably nearly died. Neither was forgoing the potential sales on the Xbox platform altogether.

It sucks, but it was expected to be honest. I don't see any MMO that's across all 3 systems all being cross platform due to Sony and MS not wanting each others user base playing together.

We will get situations like FFXIV where its one console cross play with PC, but not all 3 at once.

What does that have to do with ESO, though? There isn't cross play for the PS4 version of it. I doubt that has anything to do with Microsoft.

I am super excited for this game, Huge Elder Scrolls fan and I love MMOs so this is a match made in heaven.

I am glad I waited for the console version, pre-ordered it yesterday and can't wait for the 9th of june.

I wish this wasn't coming out so close to The Witcher. I really like being on MMOs at the beginning when everyone is low level and zones are full of people exploring, but I'm so hyped for The Witcher that I can't put off playing it... And I don't really have time for both. ESO will have to wait. I hope the player pop holds up for a while.

I am just glad that I will have nearly a month with TW3 before this drops. But both are going to be taking up all my gaming time for awhile.

If anything, the lack of a subscription requirement makes me think it'll sustain population pretty well (outside of major releases probably killing player count for a bit).

But the whole "everyone is low level" thing is unlikely since a lot of us are probably doing the character copy thing, so there'll be high level players day one on the consoles.

There'll be a ton of lower levels for the new console owners thankfully. I am actually starting a new Sorc focused on PVP for the console launch. I made him a bunch of equipment sets to keep swapping out as he levels ready to go lol

Also good thing about the non-vet campaign as it would be way too rough for the new owners in PVP without it because of us.

I wonder when this is going to be available for pre-order on XB1. It hasn't even be added to the Coming Soon section yet despite stuff like Just Cause 3 being there.

What has changed since the PC version first released?

Um you'd probably be better off googling "What has changed in ESO since launch", but I'll list some stuff.

- The Justice System is now in place (stealing, killing npcs, etc.) which includes a new skill line for being a scoundrel.

- The Champion System is now in place. Once you hit VR1 you unlock the champion system which you gain a Champion Point while experiencing that you can then put into unique tree lines for new passives. This will be fully implemented in time when they remove the Veteran levels (coming soon, tm)

- New Animations

- New stat system

- Upper and Lower Craglorn for Veteran 10+ characters

- Trials (12 man raiding style system)

- Dragonstar Arena (4 person high end)

- Even more Vet Dungeons (some are pretty awesome)

- Scalable Dungeons so you can continue to do them all

- Provisioning system was 100% re-done.

There's way more, but that's a sample.

So I bumped my PC settings down to Medium just now (the console version sits between High and Ultra) and took some screenshots.

I'm seriously considering this game after being bitten by the "Hack & Slash" combat of Bloodborne. I'm trying to get some friends on board but for now they're still iffy...keep going back to Destiny, why I don't know. If not I might be looking for some friends and groups here.

I asked this on another ES topic...is the bulk of the gameplay toward PvP or split among other types? I was told there is a specific area for the PvP, small and large battles but there is also plenty to do solo and co-op. It was also recommended to have one co-op character so if you have a group everyone stays close and another on for solo & PvP. For someone new like me is there a good site or video showing "Getting Started in ES Online" for the PS4? Thank you.

You don't need separate characters for pve and pvp, the way the skill system works in this game you can just change your bar loadout and go.

I also can't say if the "Bulk" of the game is PVE or PVP, it depends on what you want. You could play this entire game against PVE as a single player game or with friends and NEVER PVP, it's really up to you.
