could the iffy performance during the opening on the PS3 version be due to the way Bethesda games on ps3 normally do a 4gig install in the background during the intro parts?
That very well could be. That is assuming that same technique is used. It makes the most sense.funkystudent said:could the iffy performance during the opening on the PS3 version be due to the way Bethesda games on ps3 normally do a 4gig install in the background during the intro parts?

Played the 360 first for about 4 hours then switched over to the ps3 version and played for a couple last night.
I definitely prefer the 360 version. Something seems off with the ps3 one. Not sure.
Maybe I was just tired but I felt a little unwell after playing, while I was fine playing the 360. There seems to be a lot of frame rate dropping in the beginning. The picture seems less sharp, some areas are harder to see (too dark/everything blends together).
Also the controls feel less precise.
And if it matters I'm a ps3 man.
Anyway, maybe I'm wrong. Just thought I'd drop in my thoughts.

Than that couldn't be it.KeioSquad2 said:There is a 5.5 gb install in the beginning, so I doubt that could be the reason, but I suffered no such ill effects in my game, no pause or nothing.....it did take a while to save the first time, but that was it.
I think this is pretty much it, just go with whatever version you feel more comfortable with, each has its issues.EXGN said:So after reading all six pages, it seems like both the console versions come out even - a "pick your poison" scenario?
PS3
-Washed out colors
-Missing shadows
Xbox 360
-Screen tearing
-Texture issues
That sum it up?

Really? Framerate has been rock solid for me, no matter the environment.Unregistered007 said:I am playing the 360 version and I don't mind textures however the 360 can't maintain 30 fps while going around in the open...

Looks like they forgot to put shadows in the PS3 versionFrench said:http://www.lensoftruth.com/head2head-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-screenshot-comparison/
PS3 version looks shit, thank you Bethesda. :|
TONX said:Got the PS3 version. I had no problems at all with it. runs smooth and no tearing at all, which is key for me because i get severe headaches when tearing is happening.
To the people with concerns with the menus being sluggish, shut off auto save, or change it from 5 minutes to 20 or 30. i had smooth menus since i changed it.
Looks I know which version I'm getting, that link sealed the deal. I'll just wait until the patch to start playing.French said:http://www.lensoftruth.com/head2head-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-screenshot-comparison/
