The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Console Performance discussion

I'm now 100+ hours in on the 360 version and performance has taking a big hit. Really long load times, frequent momentary freezing, and NPCs can take ages to start talking. Is this the PS3 problem showing up on 360, now that I have a very large save file? Is there anything I can do? I've avoided installing to the hard drive due to the texture bug, but I'd be willing to take the visual hit if it means a smoother experience...

That does sound like the PS3 problem, other people do run into problems on the 360 after 100 hours. You can try turning off all auto saving and that should help for a while.

I just tested it on my console, and loading interior spaces only takes ten/twenty seconds at most. Even with Wulf, who I played for 160 hours (and who has a 16 mb savegame), loading's pretty fast.

So guys, I dunno, make more characters or something.

There is no texture loading bug anymore fyi.

my friend got corrupted saves, and when he reach a specific place the game is stuck, anyway to fix it ?
its pc version btw

Tried installing the game and got constant hard locks, have now deleted the install and they've stopped, but I'm still experiencing slowdown. Wondering if I should just wait for a patch at this point?

I posted this in the official thread but got no replies, but I think it makes more sense to be posted here.

Can someone do me a favour? I've been playing this game on a 4gb Xbox 360 with the low res textures and people at Bethesda's forums said I'd need to buy a hard drive to get the high res textures. Can anyone over on GAF confirm this for me by taking off their hard drive and playing their save through a USB stick? For me the high res textures disappeared after about 30 minutes of playing. I'm curious if the same happens for anyone else. I just want to know if the problems are all fixed with a hard drive before I spend $130 on one just to play Skyrim the way it was made (fucking Microsoft...).

I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me. :)

Just picked up Skyrim on PS3. Performance has been good, but I have had a couple of times where the game has locked up and I had to reset the PS3.
