DMC1 trailers were pretty hype. Seeing those PS2 graphics + a character with tons of attitude + flashy motion graphics got the adrenaline going back in the day.

Looking back, the Duke Nukem Forever E3 2001 trailer was also a great trailer. What's so amazing about it is that it manages to feel like a movie trailer, but was comprised entirely of gameplay footage.

Ah! I miss this kind of promotional products! In this case from SCEE Special Projects Department. I remember fondly the PS2 Demo Disc (PBPX-95506) for registered users that I received, good times!

I don't want to compare its epic value to that of the other trailers posted here, but talking about Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty trailers, I wanted to mention the one from European Computer Trade Show (ECTS) 2000. I think it was shown in a reel alongside a modified version of the famous one from E3 2000:

This trailer I have posted has Can't Say Good Bye to Yesterday by Rika Muranaka as an insert song, but the one that is included in The Making of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty DVD ROM that accompanied the PAL release of the game doesn't have this modification, maybe someone who attended the event can say what is the one they exhibited.

I remember going completely ga-ga along with thousands of other people when I first saw this trailer as it was the first thing that SEGA Japan shown before revealing the main in-game. What a perfect way to make people go insane for Sonic!

This isn't exactly a trailer, but it was so well done that it made every teenager and young adults in the US and Europe go absolutely NUTS and COMPLETELY BONKERS!!! In fact, it was so well done that it was the only video promotion for the game!?

Assassin's Creed Revalations + Woodkid made me jump out of my chair during the E3 stream. Such an amazing fucking song choice, and really funny for me too because I had literally been having a conversation with my flatmate about how that song would be perfect for an Assassin's Creed trailer.

Hell, even the first Assassin's Creed had amazing licensed music trailers. Heartbeat by Massive Attack. AC2 had that amazing Justice music video too. So, yeah. Ubisoft's marketing team does some crazy shit with AC. I love licensed music in games/trailers. Metro Last Light fucking bumps with that Portishead song, I love it.

Oh, also, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon's trailer. God DAMN.

Imho is the Lonley souls trailer for the first AC still the best of the non CGI ones.

Agreed - I watched all of these earlier today and was not expecting such badassery.

Most of the classics have already been mentioned, but Batman: Arkham City deserves a nod.

This next one is kind of a clash of video game trailers. It's 6 minutes long so it felt like a short movie to me when I was a teenager. Just seeing those cool peripherals and games accompanied by a exciting video was something special.
