The Extreme Fever Peggle XBLA Offical Thread

AstroLad said:
Your shot score is the total value of the pegs hit on a given shot (including the Fevermeter bonus) multiplied by the number of pegs hit.

On your first shot, you hit three oranges, two blues and one purple. Your subtotal would be 300 (100 x 3) + 20 (10 x 2) + 500 (500 x 1), which is 820 points. You hit a total of 6 pegs, so your final shot score would be 4,920 (820 points x 6 pegs). When your Fevermeter increases, each peg is worth more points.

Sounds like what you are talking about is the Fevermeter effect, basically the more oranges you hit the more each peg is worth (up to 10X at the end).

OOOOOHHHHHHH

wait, so what's the best course of action?! Hit all the oranges as quick as possible then clean up the blues until you are on the last ball?

Only oranges increase the fever meter right? so straight away as many oranges as possible....

Generally yes.

For those that play online Duels, do you find that the shot timer is disabled or not working? Often times, the person I'm playing can wait beyond the 15 second timer to shoot. It'll just sit there at 0 and the person is still aiming.
The problem is there is a delay between what you're seeing and what's happening on the other person's side (a few seconds). So the 15 seconds starts counting down right away but you still haven't seen the guy shoot even when he has. Thus even when he as at "0" on your screen doesn't mean he shot at or after 0.

Once you get your meter that high definitely take out the bonus peg as pell its worth 5k with full meter.

1. I've come up with a fun way of playing peg party: Shotgun Peg Party. You do a whole bunch of random levels one after eachother, but you only get 2 shots, and 5 seconds to make each shot in. Rather fun.
Clever. One thing I always wished Peggle had, and certainly in multiplayer was a "shot-call" bonus/mode. So just like pool you would call, e.g., this purple peg to that green peg and get a higher and higer bonus based on the difficulty/distance of the shot and a corresponding loss of points if you miss. Would make things even tenser on those tricky shots.

Finally jumped into the peggle craze when this came out.

At first working through the Adventure mode I was all just 'ehhh', but now I'm into it. Primarily the multiplayer is fun as fuck.

I got my 20 million achievement. :D

Just under 25 million and 83rd in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD. I was going crazy round the room when I finished it.

Got about 10 challenges left, will probably take my time with them and use them as an excuse to bounce back to the game a few times a week to knock one out a time.

They also seemed to hint that they'd be releasing some DLC levels beyond Nights, which could be pretty fun.

Where did all the ragequitters come from? I had about 4 different people quit on me last night in ranked matches. It felt like I was back on Ultimate MK3.

Currently re-doing the Adventure mode in hopes of getting the 20 million -achievement and going through the challenges. I love this game so frickin' much that I had to buy Peggle Nights off of Steam, and yes, if they release it as DLC for the Xbox 360, I will double-dip.

This game is easily the best time-waster I have ever laid my hands on. I'd love to add some of you guys to my friendlist just for Peggle leaderboards and multiplayer. :)

I've noticed that Peggle takes a while to get into. When you finally get hooked though... you get hooked.

Sure. :) I'll do that tomorrow - it's getting really late here ( 4:21 AM ), so I'm heading to bed soon.

Whats the best dude to pick for the final exam levels?

I always go for Hu (what's his entire name in english?), he can always help you get these difficult orange pegs that seem unreachable.

Keep restarting the level right as you finish it until you've got at least 350,000 total, then move on.

I've got a sick 4 million score after just finishing 1-5, but I keep replaying 2-1 over and over and over. I may never finish adventure mode again! lulz.

Also you could CHEAT like some people and keep backing out to the dashboard to make sure you get the extra 100,000 bonus for finishing it the first time.

You know who you are.

I just don't have the patience for that

Son of a bitch! I scored 653,000 points on that UFO level during challenge mode, which according to the leaderboards is, like, 15th overall in the world. BUT they don't count challenge mode scores in leaderboards damn it :lol

I had a challenge mode score that would have been world #1. Could only manage #3 when I tried in normal mode (and that score has now slipped down to about #10). :(

yeah i hate that. makes sense on some of the levels where the rules and settings are different, but not on the normal ones and especially not on the random-level ones.

This game is crack. I saw some guys in my school's game lab playing and thought nothing of it, just heard it was good. Downloaded the XBLA version and got hooked. I have now downloaded the demo on steam AND Peggle Extreme, and would like Peggle nights to come out on 360 so I won't be tempted to double dip.

Anyone finished Challenge Mode yet? Do you get a gamer picture?

I'm slowly chipping through it, done about 45/75.
i got 7 left...
finally tried multiplayer a couple of nights ago, very fun (4 player peg party)

Picked this up yesterday... this game is addicting! Checked out the leaderboard based on my friend's list and was really surprised how many of the GAFfers on my list were up there. Great game for podcasts...

woo!

Yeah, I'm gonna move on to the all-clears next. My plan is to attack them like I did on the PC--take my time, finish about half, then quit.

ive got the first 15 all clears and a couple of random ones later on, i don't know if i'll be able to get some of the trickier ones though -- i still havent got 20mil in adventure mode after 4 playthroughs

This is one of those games that just captures you. It's a game with widespread appeal, and has a very addictive nature to it.

My brother played the demo and was hooked instantly. It was the same case with our friends.

Can't believe I missed this on the PC.

Yeah at first they're actually quite fun to get, but they become an absolute dog later on.

One minor gripe on the multiplayer--it sucks that there is a pretty big delay in, e.g., duel mode between what you see and what's going on on the other side. My friend and I had to basically agree not to react until the other person had so as not to "spoil" the shot. Come on, it's Peggle! I know from talking to the devs in a few matches that they spent a ton of time getting these modes together, bummer they couldn't iron that out.

Loving the online multiplayer on 360. Its just a shame there isnt a few more modes to it. And the matchmaking could do with being abit quicker. I sometimes get the impression of being in a ghost town while waiting for a game.

750,000 tips please!
Renfield or Warren on Das Bucket is my personal favorite. Can also try to get lucky with anyone on Beyond Reason (sneak into the helix at the bottom; you'll notice like the top 100 shots are all this exact shot). My Renfield Das Bucket "guide" from earlier: You can Super Long Shot from side to side, get Spooky, Extreme Slide, then hopefully pick up another Spooky along the way and nail the purple peg, plus Orange Attack and probably another 50k or so in assorted bonuses. Get you to 350k plus on your first shot.

Thing about Warren is that you have to restart a lot to get the right combos (i.e., Triple Score + Magic Hat or some other useful power to combo off of) and you well get pissed at how many worthless Free Ball spins you get (huge props to Q for getting rid of Free Ball in Peggle DS and replacing it with a random power).

Never heard or played this game until last night. I was board and checking out arcade demo's, this was about 1:30am. Damn after I bought it I was up until 6:00am on this and had to force myself off of it. This game plus custom background music equal time killer.

I was at work sleepy as hell and I thought on my lunch I'll catch a few Zzz, But noooooo I bought it again on my cell phone and played it on all my lunch and last break.

Damn game is crack.

thanks for the tips... it's my last challenge and i'm determined to beat it :lol

last weekend i was at an apartment with like 8 other people... everyone (except me and a friend) was hung over from the previous night's activities so we just smoked and played taboo.

at one point i took my 360 out and suggested we all take turns shooting a shot in this game i have called peggle. i couldn't tell you how much fun we all had. BEST PARTY GAME EVER

Can't believe there's a Peggle thread on Gaf:D Love it, cause now I can finally come out of the closet and say I'm addicted!

I'm one away from finishing all the challenges!

Count me in on the newcomers to this beautiful dream.

What seperate Peggle from other games is that you feel good after a long round of it, not like you've stolen important time from something else. It makes life better.

I would like to see some youtube'd clips of just rounds being played by pros, not the giant shots, I've soon those, but how a pro starts off a round and goes about his stratetic ways.

Sorry for the double post, but I just had to share my love for the comedy gold in 'Peggle Nights' (this has become an all-purpose Peggle thread)

Hysterical. 10/10

I was playing some duels with my friends last night. In one of the matches I was able to pull off over 320,000 points in one shot, thanks to the magic hat.

Since I'm not a pro at all when it comes to the game, I was quite happy with myself.

I love using the magic hat and the triple score multiplier. They help a ton during challenges.

Still play this daily.

Have one fucking challenge level left. The last 'Beat Master CPU Score Over 3 Levels.'

Computer is such a fucking cheat. LOL.

How do you super long shot on the first shot in das bucket?

Usually just a peg on the far left to a peg in the right corner (or vice versa). You'll often just get long-shot credit though.

Peggle XBLA 'Nights' Expansion Priced, Dated

The Peggle Xbox Live Arcade downloadable content bringing PC sequel Peggle Nights' sixty levels of peg-pinging fun will arrive on November 18, PopCap has revealed.

The Nights DLC will run 400 Microsoft Points ($5)--nearly doubling the game's level count for half its original price--with PopCap's Garth Chouteau further telling Shacknews that "you have to admit Marina is the sexiest electric squid in videogamedom!"

So excited, Peggle is my top Arcade game of all time.

I went to XBox.com to add some points in anticipation of Nights and I accidently selected the wrong fucking option and added 25 dollars in points instead of 6...damn you, Microsoft.

Bump because I need to know how you guys pronounce "Peggle".
I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight otherwise.
