The Extreme Fever Peggle XBLA Offical Thread

Unlocked the rabbit with the hat and I think he's the best one so far. What exactly does the hat do other than make the ball a little more floaty?

The hat touching pegs also lights them up so bigger radius.

I saw you on Adventure, clicked your GT and you were Dashboard. 5 seconds later, on Peggle again. :lol
wow that is stalkerish

didn't even realize there was a big-ass bonus at the end. don't remember that from the pc version. thought i had actually missed 20m by about 20k or something and was going to cry. whoops.

glad i can move on to challenges now....i'm not even going to attempt the all all clear one but challenges is perfectly reasonable and a good 10-20 hours of fun.

Same. I finished adventure again and was disappointed anf thought I only did about 1 million better but then my final score ending up being nearly 4 million better than my first go around.

Damn. Just checked the overall leaderboard. Astrolad has the top score by like over three million. :lol

Also just noticed that all the best shot top single shot scores come(the first 56 at least) from that Level that looks kinda like a DNA helix.

yep, what it is is getting caught up in an opening at the bottom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxJxnZoJ3dM

almost wish there was a separate leaderboard for those!

So I was playing last night and my XBL wasn't working... now my overall score won't update on the leaderboard and I assume my level-based scores didn't either. Is that permanent? Or will it be smart and eventually put them up?
Anyone?

Just did my first duel match as I normally do peg party. I won and got sent this message.

you got so damn lucky on last shot you shoulda been deducted points for being an idiot and shooting straight for pink, luck you even hit a orange...

Edit double lol.

I sent him a message saying haters gotta hate and he sent me this back.

Niggers got act like gangsta... Haters you know you fucking got lucky on that shot and you shoulda just played it safe and went for orange... fucking idiot.

He knew I was black because my avatar is a black guy.

Never change Xbox Live. Never change. :D

His gamertag. Cipher 8.

you got fucking lucky fucking idiot. unlike every peggle point i've ever EARNED, which was EARNED through pure hard work, skill, and sweat (sorry i don't have the money to buy the controllers with the fans in them like LUCKY rich idiots like you)

Yeah but peg color placement is always random, isn't it?

Yup, but there was always that quick glance I'd take and see where the green pegs were before the character select came into view... :lol

Anyone know when this hits PSN?

Got a PSN points card I'd like to use on this.

I'd say you shouldn't hold your breath for it to hit PSN bro...

i'm a little bit uncertain as to whether the psn version is the same as the xbla or a straight port of the pc hmm

whoo #1 on the adventure leaderboard :D
woo! number 8,800 :(
but i have number 111 on the best shot board, 540,000

i bought this game blind because all you people kept talking about how good it was. It is very addictive i have to say

They are definitely bringing Peggle to PSN. I haven't heard anything re the date yet though.
RE5, Gears 2, Fallout 3, Mirror's Edge, Civ Rev, and Last Remnant today.
Yep I passed on all the recent releases because I thoight, "eh, I've got Peggle. That'll keep me more than busy."

The people online in Peg Party are pretty shitty, aren't they? I joined a game on like the 5th ball and still won the match by a decent margin.

Annoying that people don't stay in the room long enough for me to get my 100k+ achievement. :(

I hated it at first but after the first level it is pretty awesome. It's like pool, pinball with a bit of braid mixed into the game. The lobster pinball level was awesome, I thought I'd be doing better on the leaderboards...then I saw yall's scores.

Got to #45 on Best Shot - 800,720 and got to watch my replay from the leaderboards. A few hours later and I'm now #49. My replay will probably be gone shortly. I did take a picture of my TV to capture my brief moment of glory. :D

I said that because I haven't heard a thing about it, when it's coming, etc.

The first time I was going to get that Achievement, two guys quite right from the beginning in the Ranked match, the second time, I hit 145,000 or so off the first shot while the second place guy has 39,000 - and I was thinking to myself, "man, they are gonna quit for sure" - and they actually stayed the whole match - so I was thankful that they did...

Luckily the guy I ran into later (MrHyde101, can remember his tag clearly) joined every single match I was in, and everything I or anyone else took a huge lead, even if there were 4 rounds to go or so, he'd quit out - I couldn't believe Peggle was making people quit out...

I was cruising along on the challenges until I hit the one where you have to exceed 350,000 points. Those are tough. I haven't gotten through one board yet. I assume the rabbit is the way to go in the hopes of getting a 3X mulitplier, but maybe I'm approaching it wrong.

I played 7 games of the ranked Duel Mode this morning, after playing through adventure mode last night. I went and looked at the leaderboards and I'm #1? That really doesn't seem right to me. Granted I didn't lose any of the games I played but I really didn't expect to ranked first...

I'm afraid to play any more now. I don't want to lose my #1 spot.

I don't wanna burst your bubble, but if you think 350k is hard... have you seen the challenges that follow? :lol

Everyone at my work has been playing this a LOT. I noticed that you can't save replays. Boooo. I mean, my PC version has shitloads saved.

Yeah, I know. My hope was that if I somehow managed to get past the 350k ones that the later ones would present more opportunity for higher scores. I think in general I tended to score higher on the later levels anyway.

Went ahead and downloaded it last night even tough I have it for the iPod. Great podcast game.

They have it for iPod?! Was this recently?

It's out for the old music ipod players. Not the iPhone or iTouch yet although it is supposed to be coming this month.

Tried the demo. I knew I was going to buy it when the Ode to Motherfuckin' Joy starts playing after the first level.

I hand it over to my wife. She plays through several levels, hands it over to my six year old. She's addicted. It just got rid of my three year olds severe case of the grumps. She was literally wrapped around my leg, chaning "Peggle! Peggle! Peggle!"

Now everyone in the house - all four of us - are lined up waiting to play.

Peggle. Fuck yeah.

Dude seriously. I tried Halo Wars. By the fourth mission I was bored and booted to the dashboard fer peggle. Mirror's Edge. Got to third level, bored, PEGGLE. Went to put Civ in to disc tray... fuck it, peggle.

Just noticed they're having an XBOX Live Event on Thursday, March 19 from 7-10 EST. :)

Add the following gamertags and look for an invite if you want a chance to chat with the developers:

Peggle Warren
Peggle KatTut

I'll be there... Note to self: Will have to DVR 30 Rock...

this game is too addictive :( it dragged me away from kz2 which was a bit depressing haha, i felt like i was having a dirty affair. I've done all the challenges up until getting 400,000, did the first one of those and had to give up :( later... -- also did the 2 challenges near the end of the list, finish a level starting with only 2 balls, and the same but with 1 ball... they werent as bad as i expected

I'm finding some of the challenge stages a bitch and I get easily frustrated.
I have now focused my attention to high scores on each level. Made top 30 on level 1-2 and 1-4.:D Those won't last long. So many levels, I can see myself putting in 15-25 hours just working on high scores.
There is no doubt a lot of luck is involved in this game but the more I play there is no denying this game takes some skill. Like nailing that last orange peg and angling it in to the 100,000 point area.
Getting my better scores by using that pumpkin dude. Get him twice in one shot and watch your score soar.

Add me to the Peggle believers list. I'd never played the PC version so this was my first time with the game and I'm already hooked. Nabbed 21.7 million my first time through challenge mode and I just want to start over again to get higher up on that leader board. Kinda wish there was some type of 3-4 player local mode (am I missing it?) but I only see peg party for Xbox live and duel for local multiplayers. Even just some type of mini challenge mode would be nice for bigger local groups. Aside from that though, no complaints at all.

Unfortunately no, just duel. I wonder if the DLC will be limited to Nights. Would be pretty great to see them release new modes.

I finally polished off Dual Shot last night, so now I can focus on Challenges (done about 20), All-Clears (only have 2 :P) and going through Adventure again to climb the boards.

my only complaint! game is otherwise golden.

came back last night (from smoking an L and showing my friend the glory of Peggle DS), booted up the xbl and got my first all clear :D still going through adventure mode, what an awesome game...

I love the game, but have one little irritation... the scores you achieve in challenge mode don't register to the leaderboards. To get around this, you have to go to quick play and select the board you are working on in challenge mode. It will complete your challenge (if you meet the challenge requirements of course) and update the leaderboard. I hope they patch it, so your challenge points just go right to the leaderboard.

Depending on the board, you can also go for the pumpkin. The pumpkin goes through the board twice and maybe even three times if you get both greens, so you can accumulate the bonuses for two extra balls and also the extra style points.

Another way to rack up points is to use the Pumpkin or Woodchuck's green peg abilities while in Peggle fever modes. If you hit the final Red peg and then hit the green peg (or the other way) you'll get two chances of post game bonuses.

Yeah I noticed that too. Part of it I think is that in Challenge mode there are special rules in play. For example, in the Challenge mode all-clears you keep playing even after you hit the last orange peg.

The online is way fun, especially against friends, but a couple nits:
-GIVE ME MY FREE BALLS. At least in Duel Mode, and really in any mode IMO, you should get your free balls. It's not really like you even play these modes with balls, just turns. I mean Kat Tut sucks enough already, come on give the man his balls.
-Delay/lag. My friend and I had to agree to not react to our own shots so as not to "spoil" it for the other person, as the delay was at least a few seconds. Have to admit it was somewhat entertaining making a great shot and waiting for my friend to react, but I'd rather do without the delay.

So I started writing a review of Peggle XBLA, and I booted up the PC version just so I could talk about the difference between the features.

Now, I'm having trouble coming up with a justification for the XBLA version other than just 'it's Peggle'. Every addition that they have to the main game has a couple of additions that I wish were there and aren't.

And yet, I'm loving playing through the game again. I'm just wondering if I should have bought it on XBLA or just gone through Adventure mode on PC for a second time.
