I really don't need to go into the controversial marketing of BFV and how disastrous it was. This thread is not about that. No no no, for you see all of you wonderful people of Gaf that didn't play the game it was an even bigger cluster fuck AFTER the game launched.


This is the latest video Levelcap done on BFV and you can really hear the sadness in his voice. Remember, this is one BF's biggest fanboys/creators and he is calling out DICE on their ineptitude.



BFV is in a true sate of emergency. Since Chapter 4 were were promised 4 maps.........we have ONLY got ONE freaking map. Everything has been delayed to "unforeseen bugs". Patch after patch has done nothing but break the game even more.
As a long time BF fan I have been truly saddened by this game, at least Im glad I got it as a present.

Now even the VP and General Manager issued a formal apology for the sad state of Chapter 4

I stopped watching Levelcap a long time ago due to his shilling and thought Battlefield must be in a really bad state if he is complaining.

DICE are so far up their own social politics I just think they have other priorities. I also get the feeling they have this idee that Gamers Are Bad™ and won't listen to any feedback at all. I mean the changes they make are sometimes baffling.
 
Never bought a single Battlefront or Battlefield game in my whole life.

I just keep dodging bullets over and over. Sucks to be you. Try to be more like me and be on the winning side.

Really: just stop buying this shit. Eventually the publisher and developer will learn once the money spigot is shut off.
Never preordering a game is a good first step in that direction.

The fastest BF game that I've dropped. Good luck with the garbage GaaS that apparently is bollocks and won't survive for long

Hey, take this ass game. It doesn't have content at the beginning but on the long run this game will have more content than any other game

Oh and yeah, you're still going to pay $60 for a half game. DEAL WITH IT

Didn't buy BFV and all last BF games were amazing except for Hardline. I stopped playing the game and I just play Siege :(

BFV content is the only thing they have announced, so far and they are screwing the pouch pretty bad in that area. I have little confidence in DICE after both Battlefront and BF

Oight! I'll have you know, sonny! Battlefield 1942 and it's mods/expansion packs, to this day, is still/was one of the best pc multiplayer games there ever was!

...It just went a lot downhill after, sadly.
 
I knew that the amount of post launch maps would be drastically decreased when everybody was on the 'no premium' bandwagon. Seems there were barely any maps to begin with though. Luckily I avoided this apparent turd. Real shame what they did with this game.
 
BF1 was such fun as well. I didn't mind it at launch but it got old pretty quick. I don't think the vehicles were at all fun to control or handle. I don't really like the fortification mechanic, feels like it was ripped from Fortnite just because......BF has always been something that has 'recovered' for since BF4 and the horrendous launch. However, there's been nothing at all for BF V.
 
The reason it was such a clusterfuck is because they put more time and effort into marketing the game towards the social justice warriors and virtue signalling about how progressive they are than they did actually making a decent game.

DICE and EA these days are lazy and would rather put out a half-assed product and just bludgeon people with marketing until they buy it rather than put a decent game out with quality that speaks for itself.

ya i think Respawn is going to be their goto studio when it comes to shooters. hopefully we can get Titanfall 3 next year.

This goes to show additional reasons why burning goodwill for unrelated political/ideological issues, and a holier-than-thou stance to beat your customer with, is such a bad idea.

Game development is turbulent. Shit happens. You need that goodwill for when things go sideways, and that's pretty much happened to every developer on the planet, with a bad or weird sequel, or period of time for a multiplayer game.

Had they not been such cunts, maybe people would be more supportive right now, and this would be a passable bumpy patch. Instead, it looks more like the latest in a series of mortal shots to the franchise.

The sjw catering was what killed the game doa. It's not eas fault, it's dice. They are from Sweden and most of the swedes are SJWs
 
Bought BFV like 2 months ago on PC at about 50% discount so I'm still having fun with the present content but, and this is a big BUT.......I've never seen so many cheaters in a game!! There's no anticheat at all and the report is just useless since I keep seeing the same cheaters and there's no moderation at all by EA/DICE. Moreover this game is really badly optimized. I've read many people with beefy computers having problems with BFV to make it run above 60 fps and I'm not even talking about AMD users.
I know that promised new content for early players is very important, but if you have to deal with so many cheaters every game it just destroy the fun. They should solve this problem or at least try banning a good portion of these hackers. I can't count the reports I make every day, it's insane! You go in spectate mode and you see people with like 60 kills and more shooting through walls and killing everyone, they don't even need to move anymore at some point. I really don't see myself buying a Battlefield or any other shooter on Origin if this is how the deal with cheats.
 
So what happened to "crunch is bad and don't want devs to overwork themselves. Just push it back 6 months."? I regularly play bfv on xbo and have no problems like cheating or overly unacceptable jank. I did have a problem with one of the vehicles but that was it. And I don't care about a delay, the maps are free anyway.

I didn't say that... BFV will.
2v2, 6v6, 20v20, etc. everyone is enjoying the gameplay that was show so far.
 
I was (or am?) one of the biggest BF fans and I supported the series up until BFV... I gave up on it a few month ago and been playing BF4 again since. BF4 is all I need until they release the next, good, modern BF game....
 
What is sad is because DICE had the chance to do some amazing World War II fights.
What they did was just tell the fanbase to go to hell or enjoy the SJW injected there.
 
Dice has constantly stepped in shit with this game and no longer deserve the benefit of the doubt regarding this franchise. They've ruined my favorite series in less time than it took to make it great and it pisses me off. Their incompetence on the development side and arrogance on the PR front are major red flags for any future game they're associated with.

"EA it's in the game" yeah months later if ever. Motherfuckers.

Honestly it's not that hard to make a "good battlefield" they perfect the console formula with Bad Company 2 and the PC with 2142. Both are excellent games in there own right and suit there native environment of players perfectly.

The failure is when they tried to combine the two and you got a watered down version of both.

Battlefield 3 was just not as good BUT it was still a fine game, Battlefield 4 tried to streamline a little but became a buggy mess, however now it's a pretty good game...

The issue is when BF1 and finally BFV tried to simplify simplified mechanics, the chaos was no longer fun because there was nothing to learn. You dont need to remember vehicle spawns because now you spawn IN the vehicle,

EA needs to do a WoW Classic and rip out alot of there "quality of life" improvements for gameplay, people enjoy learnings there game inside and out, BF as a series is now more kid friendly than CoD at this point
 
I always play Battlefield games for years until the next one comes out. I dropped this one in less then a month. It's just a bad game and they seem clueless.
 
As much as I love BF and even BFV, it's probably not a good idea to tell your fan base not to buy the game before it's even released.
 
Just release BF4 Remake with new assets.

And shut down dice while you're at it. The way they laughed at their very own fans on their banners at the dinner they can fuck right off for good. Will never support them again, yeah we'll we don't need you! We'll it appears you do with those sales that are the worst you've ever had.

Honestly I was hugely disappointed by BF1 and the Battlefront reboot for the lack of content and progression relative to previous DICE games, as well as certain gameplay changes. All of the simplification and laziness across the board. It's really that simple. I also think in the case of BF1 they missed the opportunity to make something uniquely fun with the WW1 setting. When I saw the beta stuff from BFV I immediately knew they were not learning from the previous games. That's all it's ever been for me with these games. The SJW crap is just icing on top of the cake. Because it's like you must as a company really have contempt for the people who love your games. They try to tell you as consumers of your product, as customers, as good little paypigs what it is that really does it for them, what makes the product fun, and they just don't listen. They see you countersignaling them as a group and opting for this woke marketing and fluff in the games while neglecting the content and then you tell them if they don't like it, leave. Well... Message received is all I can really say. And I don't see your dyked out cripple cheerleaders picking up the slack in sales when the people who loved the games have left. All of the people who thought this was really, really brave do not really vote all that well with their wallet.
 
Every EA game nowdays is trash. Dice use to be a good group of trusted devs. Even my current fav devs Popcap are making a 3rd shooter with PvZ 3 and it was terrible in the beta. Like you could not make it any worse if you tried.
 
That Casino clip must be how a lot of developers feel like dealing with their "fan base" these days. Being treated like trash if they don't satisfy everone perfectly.

BF2 and BC2 are two of my favorite games ever. I built a PC to play BF3. I bought literally every BF game released, often multiple times... until BFV. I honestly didn't like BF1 and all the marketing and run-up to BFV just sealed my decision to skip this.

EA is incapable of making a great game anymore. They make so much off loot boxes every game needs to be a service and it utterly destroys the games. It's weird to think they were being voted the "worst company" when they were releasing stuff like Burnout Paradise, Dead Space, Dante's Inferno, Fight Night, Dragon Age, Skate, Bad Company, ME2, etc. Who wouldn't trade that EA for the one we got now?

I'm jumping ship and give that new CoD a try. I'm curious how they handle large maps with more players.

BFV seems to be all over the place and tried to please everyone rather than focus in one area.
 
BFV was my make-it-or-break-it game from DICE.

Stopped playing right before Firestorm was added.
It's a shame, BF was one of my favorite franchises and BFV could've been amazing.

It already started when DICE started listening to those "muh immersion" whiners.
 
the game has so many bugs right now you would honestly think its an early access game, it somehow gets worse with each patch.
 
As a total casual in the game I thought it was ok, still fire it up occasionally. I have wonder why EA is still considered to be so big a company, they seem to misfire on every release. Maybe with EA today it really is all about the sports games, I don't follow that genre so I don't know how they are doing and what percent of their revenue comes from that stream, it must be insanely expensive from a licensing point of view.

Dude, LevelCap sounds sad and bored now most of the time. I don't know if he is unhappy or simply not motivated with his "job" but its rare to hear him happy. I remember he sounded way better in this airsoft and lego videos, but now, most of the time with his game videos, he sounds like that.

Its a shame cause you can also see this with his views. Even if he has tons of subs, his videos don't get lots of views.

I prefer JackFrags right now, he always sounds serious, but never sad.
