Good Lord. That Danny Trejo fighting game looks absolutely terrible. How the hell are you supposed to keep your feet completely still while throwing punches?

The Wii's been out for 4 years now and this is still the best anyone can figure out what to do with motion controls.

Controllers 4 life.
 
the sonic tropical music is great. reminds me of God Hand. game looks inoffensive too (except for the cut-scene). Good on ya team sonic!
 
sonic colours looks like they ripped off mario galaxy as closely as they could without getting sued but that theme only made it as far as the menus, and then they turned in the usual shit for the actual game.

The early levels really open up once you unlock certain powers. Essentially its like the p switches in super mario world and discovering news paths in older levels. I was really fearing they were gonna start this quick look on tropical resort and not a few hours into it, because after a few hours you realise that the game encourages a lot of revisting levels to search for red coins, which in turn unlock more levels to play through. Searching for red coins is not the hold forward to win style of playing.

the quick look doesn’t leave much room for any possible Deca Sports apologists. it looks awful. There’s a ton of jank. so much jank. an illegal amount of jank.

As much as I appreciate Quick Looks, not all of them are made equal. Some Quick Looks give you the full idea of what to expect, and some don't. The Sonic Colors Quick Look is the latter. Can you imagine how people would have reacted to a Quick Look of Twlight Princess if they started from the very beginning?

Here's what you should expect from Sonic Colors.

Thankfully, those don't exist.
 
They... they didn't do the Paintball game in Deca Sports.

It's an FPS controlled by Kinect. It's an FPS controlled by Kinect and they didn't give us a chance to laugh at it. Come on Giant Bomb, get your heads in the game, we're only watching these Kinect Quick Looks for one reason.

It's also worth noting that they were playing with the Wii remote on its side which I imagine is a pretty bad way to play it, especially the 3D sections. I've tried both Wii remote + Nunchuk and Classic Controller and they worked perfectly.

Oh yeah, I totally grimaced when Ryan said he was doing it sideways style. I was expecting them to at least use a classicon. That being said he didnt do as bad as I thought he would.

Yeah, it's a bit silly. Sonic actually benefits from analogue control, even in 2D.

As far as Sonic games go it looks like a big step up to me at least. That's not to say you're wrong though...
