I was actually trying to be nice, I actually do like Quick Looks, just not enough to jerk them off if they don't make a solid full effort into the game. They have misses, recently with stuff like BlazBlue & Need for Speed Shift.
 
well i think the ones where they dont make the 'effort' as you put it are the ones that they just arent really into.

but they are always very open about that and Jeff made it very clear in both the nfsshit and bb ones that it just wasnt his thing. i guess if you watched it with the sound off you might be pissed but otherwise complaining that they didnt play it right is a bit silly. he played it how he plays that kind of game.

anyway having seen demon's soul's i can understand where they are coming from but it looked kind of cool (thath cthulu thing was great) so i might even try to import it. i'm not going to get pissed that they didnt like it since thats their opinion. theres a difference between games that just suck and games that some people might not be feeling, and GB are usually pretty honest about that.

Admittedly I'm the last person who should be making fun of people for going off their rocker defending things they like on the internet, but the defense force for this game really needs to chill the fuck out. If you're going to take the mantle of "this game is awesome, it's just not for you," it doesn't help to look like a self-absorbed toolbox while you do so.

Oh, and Gridrunner Revolution blows my mind and I need to own it.

Some people really seem to love this game and others, not so much. When its either a hit or a miss game there is always bashing going on. It also doesnt help that the game calls back to 90's mechanics and difficulty (for better or worse). It seems that the whole debate of old school gaming difficulty to new school ways are getting tossed in here which doesnt help a frickin thing.

Well, if you must know, I think it was obvious that I was messing around since I know you've been posting in this thread and would be likely to see it; but since you really want to get all apoplectic about it: regardless of what you were commenting on, you're white-knighting a video game. A niche video games that, if any other Atlus game is any indication, is going to sell 100,000 copies at most. Internet/Demon's Souls is serious business, etcetera etcetera.
 
Funny. Seeing the quotes you responded to doesn't make them seem any less...I dunno...insanely excessive? Seems kind of silly to get so worked up over a video game.
 
If you really think using the term "douchebag" is insanely excessive, why don't you go into the Uncharted 2 thread and claim that the game is utter shit and that only people who are mind controlled could enjoy it.
 
Because that's not my style. And if someone said something like that to me, I'd just casually ignore it. Hurling insults at each other isn't going to accomplish anything. And it certainly isn't going sway anyone or change anyone's mind.

I admit statements like that can be annoying, I'm just saying you should just let things like that roll off of you.
 
That's not a defense of your "insanely excessive" claim. Insanely excessive is Anthony Gallegos getting told he should be raped and murdered for giving Uncharted 2 a 4.5/5. Claiming that people only like a certain game due to being mind controlled is a bullshit argument that deserves a succinct response. And if you can't recognize parody and hyperbole that obvious for what it is, I can't help you there.

I agree. However I find it quite funny that your original complaint about the level being too hard was covered in the quick look and it just seems you're attacking giant bomb now because you were proven wrong.
 
Watching the quick look of Demons soul had me thinking this is just some Risen lite game for consoles. Not that its entirely a bad thing. There very alike in ways.

Why do you think the UI is poor and outdated? What about it reminds you of PSone era games? He was just after specifics rather than generalities.

Can you re-post your explanation? Sure it is just an opinion, but we usually have reasons for our opinions. I can see why people might not like Demon's Souls, but seriously what is so wrong with the UI that makes you and some others single it out as a negative feature of the game?

and in response to that, you quoted his post and said, "I really like the game, but you don't think the game has a poor and old fashioned ui?" and then I posted that I thought the UI was pretty intuitive to which SirPenguin called bullshit on and you posted "exactly" in response to his post.

Obviously you had some issue with the game's UI. Your posts implied that you think the UI might be considered an old and annoying mechanic that add difficulty arbitrarily and that it is unintuitive. You obviously cared enough to bash the game with your UI comments (among others), but when asked about your reasoning you just run off and say "I'm done with you idiots!"

Nice work! I think they call your type a "troll" in these parts.

Space Giraffe is $20 on PC too. The XBLA version is subsidized.

I have Space Giraffe on XBLA but I'll gladly buy the Gridrunner Revolution+Space Giraffe bundle as soon as they put it on Steam.

I was kinda surprised when Jeff(?) said it was only available on their website. I'm sure it will end up on steam eventually but it just seems strange to me that they didn't initially do it.

:lol @ the comments on the site about the DS Quick-look video. Can anyone explain how Demons Souls has "outdated game mechanics". How does this work? The game has several innovative features yet it gets slagged of with this? Why doesn't the Halo games for example get slagged off with "out-dated game mechanics" for example? What does the term even mean exactly? I must have missed something here. Admittedly the guy hadn't actually played the game but still.

Actually forget all that. I'm really interested in what entails "next-gen" gameplay. If DS doesn't have this then how would it been if it did? What changes would have been made and would they be for the better? Does it mean "streamlining" or dumbing down or is it something else? What games are a good example of "Next-Gen gameplay". Is it more than a cliche?

I was looking at their forums earlier today and he said that he wants it on Steam and is working towards that, though he won't guarantee anything after what happened with Gridrunner++ and Microsoft.

I assume the main "out-dated mechanic" folks are talking about is the heavy death penalty, a callback to old PC games.
