It's interesting though, since I think GB did what every other gaming site couldn't do - actually make their staff important to the site by marketing personalities via videos and podcasts.

I mean, 1up and IGN and GS do put their people out there and whatnot - but even with the "1upocalypse" and the more recent GS/IGN layoffs, the sites go on. Hell, anyone even remember Matt Cassamassina now? If any of the big four ever left GB though, I think the site would die.

what the gb guys are doing is much more relevant and much easier to support than what they did at gamespot. people respect that.

Matt Cassamassina was too ridiculous to ever forget. He is literally the only existing or former IGN staffer I know by name besides Ms. Licked-a-PSP.

I don't think this is true. The site can suffer the loss of one of the main four and limp on until they fill that vacant chair. Losing two would be harsh, but I think it could survive even that. That's because the four main dudes have such strong personalities that they'd make up for the slack. It would actually be a bigger blow to lose Dave or the other core 'top men' that keep this whole thing running.

Never liked 1up. The 'personalities' seemed too fake and forced to me. The Giant Bomb crew are masters of improv... maybe not Brad, but his huge failures are always entertaining. :D

Me too, sans the memory part as I grew up with the SNES gen. :D

I loved the Game Room gag they did at California Extreme.

I kinda missed the SNES gen myself :-( There's a gap there filled with no memories at all :-P

I realize some people are very nostalgic and these games might disappear from the face of the earth otherwise, but Game Room seems like one of the worst values I've ever seen.

Not to mention a large chunk of them seem almost unplayable with the controller

Yeah. It's just extremely stupid that MS charges you extra to play on both platforms. It's the same damn game - just be glad people aren't using MAME to play these games on PC.
 
A lul in releases is coming up, I would love another Xbox Indie Game selection QL, fingers crossed.the games room qls make me wish they exposed then the same way. (maybe Minis too).

Oh yeah, definitely. The nostalgia is just for that one game (if lucky enough) each week.

The rest of the games they show are mostly garbage and unplayable. But that is also part of the fun with the Game Room quick looks. :-P

Yeah, me too. I remember that the mist part was pretty intense. Good times.

PS: Wasn't enduro shown in the movie D.A.R.Y.L?
 
I thought Enduro's was a sort of motor bike, and not cars? That's what the word meant to me as a kid anyway :S
because there were rumors of cops chasing teenagers on mopeds through the woods with enduro bikes :lol
