Such a great QL tainted by Alex.

It's really weird, I never really minded him in the Gamespot era. But god damn if I don't disagree that his dour attitude really does taint the Giant Bomb media stuff.

He really needs to learn to pace himself, he never lets up

...and he's not funny

OLIVE BRANCH or RED FIST. can it get any more obvious?
Next step: have a line of text above the picture "choosing this line will make you appear to be evil and malicious" each time before you select something.

This is exactly the kind of shit people are talking about when they mention things being dumbed down.

WTF with the Playstation HOME shit?! Horrible characters and voice acting. So much nonense just to get to the actual driving game. And I have no problem with Alex, I thought he was great.

Exactly it looks worse than the first game and I didn't even like that one.

I'm halfway through and this could have been an amazing Quick Look with anyone else except Alex. Heck, just no Alex.

He's a nice guy and all, but damn dude, just shut up.

They should have had Dave on instead

Monster Tale looks like an interesting spin on the Metroidvania formula. It also looks really cute. You can tell that it's the Henry Hatsworth guys.

And what is up the hate on Alex? I really like the guy. He will also be a god among men because of his Big Rigs review.

People need to complain about something. Go back a year or two, and it'll be people bitching about Jeff or Ryan being too negative and talking too much.

a bit too heavy on the snark, but good otherwise.

I don't hate Alex, but it always feels like he's trying too hard to adapt to the natural chemistry of the regular crew. It's not terrible and I appreciate his enthusiasm for some games the GB regulars don't really care for, but I could do without him.
I do hate how he's always saying "the thing", though. That will drive me insane some day. :(

Well he did work with all of them for years over at Gamestop. I listened to Alex on the Hotspot for a long time.

Two fantastic quick looks. I've been laughing my ass off at the Test Drive quick look.

Monster Tale looks like a great little game. Very interested in checking it out.

in its defense all dialogue trees end up being this anyway, only with a silly layer of ambiguity or abstraction which is usually pointless and inconvenient - like the dev says, players end up choosing something and not realise what the choice entailed.

Everyone playing these games looks at these choices and considers what side of the coin the choices are anyway, but the game is about making the choices in the situations, not guessing which dialogue line equates to which choice.

Besides its not good/evil here, its fight, negotiate, attack and so on which is great. Dragon Age had the best dialogue and choices of any RPG I've played so I have a degree of trust here.

I know he did and I'm not saying these guys can't be friends or anything. :lol It's just that the crew is very entertaining to listen to and whenever Alex is on he sticks out in a somewhat obnoxious way. He's like the opposite Jeff Green.

But whatever. We had that talk before.

I think I'd go postal if I had to work with Alex Navarro for even a week.

You could write an entire season worth of Seinfeld episodes based on his mannerisms alone.

OK, I actually agree without (and the dev) about the ambiguity present in DA conversation trees. I had a similar issue not really knowing the "angle" that my character would be coming from for a few choices. it wasn't all the time but there were a few where I got a response pretty different than what I expected.

but! the example that Bioware chose to show in this demo does not really do anything more than offer another binary "good" or "bad" choice. if they wanted to show people that thir game has more ambiguity in conversation, then they should show it to us.

all this demo does is feed into the worst fears of hardcore DA fans that the dialogue has been pruned to two extremes.
