Quick Look: Rock of Ages (Ryan / Patrick) (38:25 min.)
Looks promising.

I haven't heard much about Rock of Ages though I did watch a couple of trailers. So I have to admit when I heard "Tower Defence" I did find myself losing a little interest but then they got into the game and it renewed it and then some. Game looks great.

Burnout Crash looks poor and the Kinect support looks absolutely terrible.

Yeah, I was surprised how positive they sounded about it on the Bombcast. Compare its shitty graphics to another XBLA/PSN game like Renegade Ops.

To be fair, Renegade Ops is one of, if not the best looking XBLA game ever made. It has sys reqs similar to Just Cause 2 on the PC. But yeah, Criterion could have done a lot better on the graphics, especially in the special effects department.

Charlie Murder looks fun, IMO. I love the way you start in hell and then get defibbed back into the real world to begin the game. The characters look like they move too fucking slow though. Gotta speed that shit up. Maybe you level up like in Castle Crashers and that takes care of that?

I'll be trying the demo for sure once its up. Looks like it could be good.

Rock of Ages quicklook was awesome, all the media I had seen on the game before, totally failed to mention any tower defense mechanics. It looked quite boring, but this quick-look really shows it in a new light for me.

Planning on picking this up.

and in the options menu there is proof of why inverted camera is the "right" way to play video games. just kidding. but it really is kind of cool how they presented the camera settings.

edit: the developer (with popped collar no less) in the burnout quick look was totally shitfaced. i'd bet money on it.

I guess they mean he's just loud using a controller so they don't need to mic it specifically. I've never noticed that in QLs though.

The game looks pretty milquetoast.

"Would you recommend anybody buy this game?"

"No."

Another multiplayer focused FPS that isn't Halo or Call of Duty that of course fails.

I'm constantly amazed there's anyone in the multiplayer for these kinds of games besides other game reviewers. What are these people doing.

So the online in this MK collection is crap and it looks like these ports are still not entirely arcade perfect. What is the point again?

they should try arcana heart 3, apparently the online is real solid, even if its not their type of fighting game

I would expect the online to be good because it is made by the Blazblue guys and that game's online is almost perfect.

Dear god, what an absolutely boring game. Every combat scenario was just blandly distance shooting at dudes, slowly, hoping to get a head shot. The aiming looked super chunky as well. The delay for the melee attacks was the most egregious of all offenses, however. Almost as bad as the melee in Call of Juarez: The Cartel, or maybe even worse.

Great QL though, the more people it teaches to stay away from Bodycount, the better.
