That just happened to me and surprised me so much!

That fucking shit about climbing under the fence is the only thing I remember about MGS2 besides the dude with rollerblades. I laughed so hard this morning, I saw this shit coming from a mile away. I spent hours figuring that out back when that came out. So stupid.

Its not MGS2 if you don't get stuck at that spot.

Wow, I can't believe Klepek died in the intro.

Colonel: "Hide. Run down the corridor."
Patrick: "What am I doing?"
Jeff: "He said run down the corridor."
Patrick: ...

I'm going to get mad watching this QL, aren't I?

People got stuck at that spot? I don't remember getting stuck there at all.

I just played through MGS3HD and am in MGS2 right now on PS3. I don't remember that long of a codec loading time. Is that a 360 thing or am I nuts?

MGS:HD quick look was as good as it gets though. Honest, funny, and self aware. That's pretty much what I want from them. I love the MGS games a ton and the comments in the quick look make it sound like they took a bit shit on them which is quite wrong.

I haven't been following the development of Halo Anniversary too closely but I'm a bit surprised to see that there's a black screen when they change graphics (I think Drew said the game wasn't pausing during those moments). I remember the videos that where released after E3 showed the switch happening instantaneously.

Yo Jeff I love you man and I'ma let you finish but I GOT THE FUCKIN' WARTHOG.

Just go for it next time Drew. I know you wanted to.

It took twenty minutes to figure out what to do when I played MGS2 for the first time last year :(.
I don't remember having this problem when the game came out.

I honestly think it's that games this generation have dulled gamers' obversation skills so severely that a hole in a shadow goes unnoticed.

Blame that on games that add shining/flashing/sparkling effects to god damn everything.

It's fucking sad, really. That shouldn't be a problem for anyone. The hole is pretty fucking obvious as it is. I had forgotten that part of the game completely when I watched the QL, and I was lost for a couple minutes but than saw the hole in the fence and the big obvious walkway behind the fence and was like "OH YEAH!"

So many developers do not posses the ability to properly elicit direction, and would rather point it out to you like you're a retard. We're not retards though, but things like that dull our observations skills, so we then approach games like retards, and games like MGS2 suddenly become a mensa entrance exam.

Drew's always very prepared for his QL's, interesting to hear Jeff's initial thoughts during the pre-release Halo days as well - good QL.
Both Drew and Dave do awesome QLs. They're easily the best. The worst are usually Brad/Ryan/Patrick QLs, because they flounder around with no idea what to do, and it shows the game off poorly.

why the hell did they play the 360 version?

for an HD remake like this, why would it matter? doesn't it perform the same on both platforms? is there missing content in one of them?

The 360 doesn't have analog buttons. It kind of matters in MGS2 and 3 I believe.

Vinny tells you to stop watching the Quick Look if you aren't up to speed, through Brotherhood.
Thanks. I might just watch it anyway. Couldn't be bothered to finish Assassin's Creed 2, so who am I kidding, I'm never going to even play Brotherhood.

You'll just have to be REALLY sure you want to shoot that gun.

It would matter if anyone at GiantBomb was good at MGS.

I would, however, have liked to see whether the codec call loading was also intolerable on PS3.

I hesitate to believe that Jeff or Patrick actually played and finished MGS2. I don't see how someone so terrible at both games could have possibly finished the games. Yeah, it's been a while, but it's like riding a bike. It's awkward for a few minutes, and then you pick it up again.

At least, that's what I thought would happen in the Shadow of the Colossus QL too...

I think they both said they hadn't played it since release. I can totally sympathize with not finding the fence hole immediately, but systematic exploration would have revealed it, and they didn't bother with that. Patrick kept leaning up against the fence on the right. If he had just done that on the left too he might have seen the hole.

So, that's another QuickLook that doesn't show the game in the best light but I don't really care this time because I am 100% over the MGS series.

I'm not even sure if I care about Assassin's Creed anymore, especially because I'm so far behind, but is the quicklook very spoiler heavy if you have yet to finish and play Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood?
Given the events of Brotherhood, I would avoid it because there is bound to be something that's spoiled.

Hear hear! But, in their defense, missing something here and there shouldnt be scorned so harshly, and differing minds see the game world differently. I myself am notorious for missing seemingly "obvious" things now and then but seeing or sensing things that aren't even visible or audible, because of the layout around them in-game.

Didnt even realize they did an 8-0hour pre-skyrim marathon. Thats pretty awesome they archived it too.

It made me want to go back and try playing Oblivion... again. Every time I do I end up feeling disappointed, though. Damn you, Snider, and your Vampire Lizard Wizard!

I read some posts here about them missing the hole in the fence and I was looking for it the entire time they were stuck. Couldn't see it at all. I wonder if it was more obvious before the HDR'd the graphics.
