But for Grisaia, they're stating they're using the Vita versions for the PC port. Can't they use that Vita version for... The Vita?

It's awesome to see the Kickstarter campaign is already a success. I remember reading the first game shortly after Koestl released his fan translation, not really expecting anything especially amazing and then being completely blown away. It's incredible to see how big of a following the Grisaia series has garnered since then, and it's truly deserved!

I hope the Vita ports become a reality, as well as the 18+ editions for PC. Hopefully Sekai will let us know about the latter soon.

I do agree that its weird that they're porting the Vita version to PC and not the Vita without a stretch goal. Maybe Sony charges funds or something? Idk, but I'm sure there's a reason for it.

That would make goddamn sense.

Also, I do not want up ressed vita graphics on my PC. why not use the PC versions?

Edit: Ah they are switching engines.

I'm a little concerned with the sheer amount of work this company is taking on. They have a bunch of kickstarters going and I have to wonder about their output. Seems like a lot of work to get done over there in the next year or so.

When they say they are using the Vita version as a base, I imagine they are talking about content and scenario, where the Vita version is the most fully featured and has extra scenes.

They contract out to different staff for each project, it's not like it's the same group of people translating/editing/programming for each game.

With how quickly these VN localizations are getting funded, I really hope kick starting these becomes a more common thing.

Do these more risque VN ever make it West intact? I imagine any adults only content has to be exercised to be sold on Steam, PSN, ios, etc. There is an AO rating but to my knowledge no commercial product has made it to retail with that.

I used to think Kickstarter bypassed that with direct sales to consumers. But I guess not.

They do come to the west, they are just not sold on those storefronts. But as you might imagine, the market for them is small.

I haven't been keeping up with Unity toolkits, is it possible to code a VN port in Unity that's faithful to the original?

Adults-only versions of PC visual novels always have the porn removed when ported to consoles/released on Steam. There are uncensored official localizations of the PC versions, though.

Yes, the programmer that would be doing this has already done it for several other VNs for MangaGamer. I've played some of them (D2B, Cartagra) and the engine worked fine.

The pillow and and bedsheet extras are embarrassments though. I wouldn't have kept them even if I qualified for that tier.

I plan on pledging at the $420 tier eventually, just saving up and not in too much of a hurry since it's lasting for so long, and the numbers for the tier aren't limited.

I really enjoyed this VN~

Has nudity censored on vita version. Dont remember if it locked that way tho.

Might pledge later, glad the VNs is getting enough attention.

Nice, already played the first two games. First one was great, second one I didn't really enjoy so I never gave the third one a try..

You'll only be charged when the Kickstarter campaign is over, not when you pledge. Also, you can change the amount or tier anytime during the campaign, or even cancel it.

Koestl (the Translator) allready hinted multiple times that there will be a 18+ version.

To my knowledge uncensored Grisaia release will definitely happen. Who, when, and if/how kickstarters get it though, no answers yet.
