I really do hope that they go with the Older character route with a family, there are very, very few games that have ever attempted to have a main protagonist with genuine family life, and I think it could be a pretty awesome dynamic to have your wife and children(I know what they said about kids, but I don't think they would play it up in the trailer just to ignore it) involved in the game somehow. I also like the things that they could do with the character if they are older, in general an older person will have more experience, be alittle wiser, and have a better understanding of things than a younger person. so I think there could be some great gameplay, and story potential their for a character whos not a young up and coming gang banger, or small fish punk looking to make a big name for himself.
Make it something like the Sopranos, or Goodfellas. It's such a shame the industry at large feels they can't have older characters in games, especially when you consider the average age of gamers tends to go up every few years. So yeah, I hope the guy in the trailer is the main character, because if anyone is going to do a character like that some justice it's probably rockstar. I had Issues with GTAIV but it had more to do with the extras, like the friendship crap, but there were good things they did with it aswell, including Nico as a character.
