I have no respect for "professional" gamers and it's not because I'm jealous either. I've seen their interviews, most of them are conceited. There was one guy who talked about "training" on Halo 2. It consisted of nothing more than playing. That's not training. Stupid.

PMS aren't professional gamers. They aren't good at videogames and don't actually compete professionally. They get paid because they're gamers with boobs.

But seriously, you guys are singling out an entire group of people because of kids aged 12-19 who attach MLG on their gamertag and act like douches.

I've seen interviews with these "professional" gamers and they sound so conceited. Just like that guy who made the "impressions" for MLG.

I have a few questions to those of you playing the beta. I can't read through the whole thread so here they are.

- How is the slightly new control scheme working? I haven't heard a word so I assume the transition from H2 to H3 has gone smoothly.

- Does the Rocket Launcher lock on to vehicles?
 
That interview was pretty sexy. Probably due to Frankie's voice. I would love to get a glimpse at some of the experimental data when the beta concludes. Getting to see what weapons were whored out the most and how many times people suicided with the power drainer and other sundry random crap would be fascinating.

I'm not in the Beta but the missile pod locks on, the rocket doesn't.

Eh. I'm sure some of them are. And when you're pulling six figures playing a videogame, I suppose you have a right to be.

But I also know that the majority of the 21+ pros are probably decent dudes. And I know first hand that Fonzi is, as I already mentioned.

I'm obviously not going to change your opinion, but MLG is an company that's doing good things for videogames, despite the retards who ruin matchmaking sometimes.

Why not do a full 16 players? You should be testing the limits if this is a stress test... Besides Valhalla plays better with more people according to everyones impressions.

EDIT: Obviously no one cares, but I spent the past however long scouring through the games of my first ever Gamertag as well as my current one looking for the game I mentioned and just before I was set to give up, I finally found it. Thanks for those, I added both to the OP so they're not missed. I also added a gaggle of links to the awesome youtube clips Cerrius posted and a few other movies, interviews and impressions. (the new stuff is at the beginning of each section). It's a tiny fraction of what's out there, I'm just trying to add a sample of the best.

I'll really, honestly update that gamertag listing tonight after the kids are chucked in bed. (I've got 1500 posts to plow through.) And lol at the two suggestions to drug them so I could play sooner. Even if that thought ever occured to me, and I'm a good daddy so it never would, my wife would never allow it.

Seriously, I'd never get away with it.

So, I was playing around in the water today and noticing that it does indeed flow around objects like Frankie was saying in the WWU. Cool stuff. If you stand next to the waterfall in Valhalla, a little ripple trail appears in the direction of flow.

If so, also in multiplayer?
 
I'm getting tons of friends invites, I hate it when people don't have the same username everywhere :( Hopefully they're from people here and not special people who want to meet me in real life and wind up on Dateline.

I just played a Rumble Pit and everyone decided to quit besides two other people. The other two people decided to team up for the win. Hahaha assholes.
 
I was never really into the whole Halo 2 multiplayer scene because the rampant cheating drove me far far away from ever going online with it. I think I played a total of 70 or so games since it launched back in November of 04 (with my old LoveHateTragedy account), so my skills are sure to be a tad rusty.

That being said, I can't wait to get my hands on this bad boy come Wednesday. :D

I'm sure some people are, but the population hasn't gone up noticably. There were 1800 people online at this time last night, and just now there were 1500 online.

People play it whenever they can, however they can. :p

I just lagged out of a GAF game, where I was getting raped so hard it's not even funny. I've played with about 20 GAFers, and on average I'm about 1/4 their skill, as measured by my death:kill ratio. It's pathetic. I probably won't play any more social game for a while just in hopes of getting matched up against people something close to my sad level.

I cannot understand why I can't kill anyone. I've tried dual-wielding, shotgun, AR, BR, you name it. I get into a fight - even when I get the jump on someone - I die first. Half the time they're not even LOOKING at me, and I start shooting them, and they turn around and kill me.

I still don't understand the layout of High Grounds. I stumbled upon the switch to open the gate for the first time tonight. Others have shown me where it is, and I've spent entire games doing nothing but look for it, but half that time I just end up lost in tunnels. (This from the guy who gets lost on Lockout, bear in mind.)

After a few games of sucking and getting used to the controls, I can pretty much hold my own against most other players. If I'm playing with good teammates like urk and Y2Kev, I'll consistently get 2nd or 1st when it comes to kills. Don't worry, so far I haven't been getting my ass kicked too much. :P.
